Emily listened intently, questioning if she had read the man before her right.

"No no, my parents passed away a few years back, thankfully peacefully, and not victims of war, or violence."

She smiled lightly, though a hint of regret was seen through her eyes.

"So you're an uncle then? Your uncle being a Director, must be pretty cool for them." She questioned, quickly changing the subject back onto Antonin.

"Perhaps. We didn't have a lot of contact since the Interregnum and split of Gallic society to pro-Confederal and pro-Enclave. At the moment of being the picture is different, but I think there is no reason why they would like to restore contact with me."

Emily nodded along as Antonin spoke.

"Maybe not mention your torture club"

She joked, she smiled lightly, but she remained semi-serious about the subject.

"I understand things can get complicated through politics, but that should never come between family"

She added, keeping her tone serious, but light hearted.

"Our society is... different." was a short answer from Antonin.

Emily could tell it was an awkward subject, though she understood somewhat. Though Emily had become accustomed to Gallia through her occupation, much of Gallia remained foreign to her.

"Screw society." she began, her voice turned into a commanding tone

"Our time is limited, show your hand, and efforts to make amends, if they refuse to apply the same effort, that's their undoing."

The situation and scale were unknown to her, but from what she could pick together, it was a complex issue, though hopefully her words could be applied.

"You don't want to die alone" she added, in a softer tone, before taking another sip from her drink.

"Somehow I believe I won't die alone but at the bridge of my warship, surrounded with my loyal crew, in a battle against enemies of my state." he chuckled grimly, before making a sip of a drink, literally repeating Emily's action. Then he looked at her, "You seem to be a romantic person, Mademoiselle Anderson. How such a person as you ever decided to join the Liberty Security Force?"

The woman before Antonin smiled slightly, though in her eyes he could see the disappointment. It was clear she hoped for a different answer though, Emily of all people understood that loyalty can be brought and sold, and that was before she had become part of the Unione Corse.

When his question came, she shrugged with her shoulders.

"I guess, a sense of duty?" she began, her tone became somewhat different but Antonin was unable to specify the meaning behind it.

"I flew as an Escort pilot for Universal Shipping, some time passed and I wanted to contribute towards the security of Liberty more..."

She leaned back, picking up her cup.

"I was young, and naive.." She ended.

"Regret for a decision you made?" Antonin made a sip of wine with a sign of joy. "Yes, a sense of duty before people of Gallia. Something that, I think, many in the Royal Navy were lacking. Serving a person that holds power is one thing, serving the people you have sworn to protect is different."

"The Royal Navy lacked a moral compass" she stated, her words spoken with confidence.

She leaned forward again.

"As a man who holds such power, do you think your men will question your leadership if you began to stray from performing your duty to the Gallic people?" she asked, her eyes narrowed as if she was trying to penetrate Antonins facade.

"The Bureau is made of people that were on both Royal and Council side, it is not my loyal clique that wants to have the power and influence but those who actually want to see a brighter future. I know that if they will notice some change of direction they will ask for reasons for the decisions I make. Does it answer your question?"
