Yes, just do it. It's marketing, it's part of modern society.
If someone genuinely has a spreadsheet/database of thousands of emails belonging to Discovery members and they're not utilising it, they're doing the community a disservice.

I could imagine that causing some legal issues, since noone ever formally agreed to receiving promotional E-Mails.

Isn't there a checkbox on the forums for receiving emails? Technically I think you could legally send it at least to those people
