If you would live in the socialists country, like I was, you would know why some people don't like it.
If you are Irish from eg. Belfast, you probably think the same about English, what I think about former system in my country, and about USSR. I am glad that is past story and won't come back.
I don't like it in disco. I don't like that socialist ideas, which are talking by people who don't know what it was in real. I don't like all that red symbols.
Maybe it is fun, but it brings some memories which are rather night mares.
(no offence, I didn't intend attack anyone, just are my feelings.)
So I like the idea, that Coalition was boom in Sol.

Tyro, look before you speak. I did live in socialist country, and heck, i even think it was better than today, but that is not a discussion for this forums.
Also you should see that freelancer is a game, and it has blood thisty pirates, murderers, thugs, corrupt law enforcers, and all other assorted pile of "bad men" I really do not see your point. Or, better to say, if a game allready has one side of ideals, and their breakers, i dont see why not the other side too.
For example on same grounds many might hate Liberty or Rheinland... or even Kusari and Bretonia.
Its a game about political and ideological wars where life is cheap and guns even cheaper. So, please leave all ignorant prejudice at the door. Its where it belongs, and play the game what ever way it comes at you.

Yeah, you don't catch the Hispanic players crying about all Hispanics being criminals.
It's about negative stereotypes. Eastern and Central Europe, as well as the USSR would be Coalition, and complete with stereotypes of alcoholism, socialism, oppression et cetera, just like the Mollys are a complete IRA ripoff, or BMM and Bowex being oppressive colonial industries like the East India Company (or Thatcher against the miners, lol, to many that brings back nightmares). To many, the Xenos are in some ways similar to the Ku Klux Klan. Doesn't this bring back nightmares?
It's all in good fun. We're all bad.
Besides, it's something of my specialist subject, Communism and Post-Communist politics being a major focus in my degree course.

And, right this is not a discussion for this forum.
I know this is a game about political and ideological wars, and this is discusion about some future ideas, and I talk about my point of view. The question was -> sleeper from Eastern Europe, I voted yes it could be, but not Coalition. That is all.

The German Democratic Republic was very oppressive, for instance. Because of this, many people, from America as well as formerly socialist nations, rightly or wrongly, associate Communism with authoritaranism, and therefore think Communism is authoritarian and evil.

Communism never works out the way it was intended to because of the human nature of greed. Communism puts a large amount of power into the government, which causes them to become power hungry and then establish an authoritarian state. Afterwards, the people end up suffering from the bad rule of the government. There is such a thing as a communist democratic nation, but it just never happened. Communism is an ECONOMIC system, not a political system. Unfortunately, since the USA gained so much wealth with capitalism, they have distorted communism to look like the axis of evil (George W. Bush said that himself actually).
Back to the point of this topic:
The only way the Eastern Europeans could make a sleeper ship is if they want to pursue the Alliance to Sirius. The Coalition actually did send sleeper ships to Sirius I think (it's in the SCRA History page), but they were Russian and Chinese built. There wasn't a Middle Eastern or an Eastern European sleeper ship as far as I know, so it is possible for them to make a sleeper ship with the Russians and the Chinese. However, doing so would probably cause the Coalition to become as strong as the one of the major Houses, which Igiss doesn't want, so it never happened. I personally don't believe in the extended intro (where Sol was blown up), but it's not like it affects RP in any way. If Sol survived, then the Sol Coalition (if they were still in power, which I don't see happening since, like all communist societies, it would probably fall and the Alliance would regain control) would probably aid the SCRA and then...BOOM! It's the Alliance-Coalition War all over again, which Igiss doesn't want, which is why he has made the extended intro canon (in my mind though, it never happened) and also not allowed the Coalition to be a strong house (at least, that's what I think, but I may be wrong).
I would actually like to see the Coalition as a house in the Omegas. I'm not a big fan of communism or socialism, but I think it would be an interesting thing to see. Either way, the Coalition probably wouldn't win because it would be 1 Coalition House against 6 (if we include the Hispanics) Alliance Houses.
