A small reminder to NY lawfuls - JakeSG - 04-30-2009 Skipped the last half dozen posts, but to alter Walker's words... Give me their names and I will give you their eyes. Or has nobody noticed the one man Liberty 'civil war' we had? Liberty Indie lolcaps can and will be dealt with. Within the rules. But instead of whining about it on forums and Skype, take screens and send them to the appropriate people. I am yet to see proof of most of these people whom have been claimed to camp Buffalo, and I believe so are the rest of the lawfuls. Edit: Yes, there is no doubt they do it, but we need proof to be able to do anything about it. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - Titan - 04-30-2009 During my time as leader of the LN I can confirm that I have never received a single shred of evidence of the LNS capwhoring, now I know they DO capwhore, however people seem to be content with whining and making themselves appear like idiots, instead of taking a single damn screenshot or two, and sending it to the proper people. I also know none of my vice admirals before, nor the LSF leadership received any proof whatsoever. And I was leading the LN for what..7-8 months? Not even sure. During this time everyone whined about the indies constantly but it seems none of you got it within themselves to actually push one damn button on the keyboard and do something about it. So why don't the whiners go cry back home to their mommas and those who are silent and know how to push a button do something about this. I know everything can be controlled with a bit of self control, talking and if all else fails, killing them if necessary in game if they act contrary to the proper behavior. So before you click the new post button folks, think for a moment, go in game, and screenshot. Edit: Also I'm saying this about all the factions that have problems with capwhoring indies, or even capwhoring in your own faction, not just for the LNS indies here. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - Divine - 04-30-2009 what Titan said. /signed. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - Seth Karlo - 04-30-2009 If I'm in my fighter and some cruisers enter the fight, I'll tell them to back off. When they ignore me I get really annoyed, but just repeating it. At least I try. Unfourtenatly, I can't type while fighting, so usually saying "*Name*, back off, waste of resources." results in my dying D: A small reminder to NY lawfuls - tansytansey - 04-30-2009 ' Wrote:not just for the LNS indies here. Well... This thread was made about LR, Outcast and Hacker Gunboats/Dessies... but whatever. I think the Unlawful capwhoring, for lack of a better term, is probably worse than the lawfuls, now. We can't exactly regulate that, either, because it is perfectly with in the rules to behave this way, and the Liberty Rogues are too disorganised to have capital ship policies, the Outcasts don't seem to care... and I don't know much about Lane Hackers at all. Personally, if I had it my way I would ban all Outcast capital ships from Liberty. They don't need to be there with warships, they aren't at war with Liberty and frankly are disturbing the LR-OC alliance by doing so. I'd also make the LR dessie into a Molly Dessie, because a bunch of rag-a-tag pirates prob'ly shouldn't even be able to get a big enough crew organised and under control, let alone build one. That is just wishful thinking, though. I'm sure many people will object to my opinions. But honestly, even though I think this would be a good idea, it would probably only shift the problem around, not solve it. There will always be people on this server that hold PVP over RP. That's their mindset, and not all of them seem willing to change that. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - Titan - 04-30-2009 No offense but saying that the rogues can't do anything is rather..dumb. Everyone can do something, both the good indies and the good faction members. You all can do things to prevent this. I respect Del for sticking to this RP and respecting "everyone's" RP, but in all honesty, one can only follow RP as long as the others you play with follow it properly as well. When their cap whoring and unproper RP starts to disrupt the gameplay of others, like it is, then measures need to be taken. One can argue ethics about it, but personally I don't care about them. If one is doing everything wrong then that person should be removed. As for solving a problem, you can always be a bit more persuasive when you "ask them nicely" to back off. There are many nice ways of informing people of the error of their ways. My personal favorite was yelling like crazy at them about what dumb idiots they were. People tend to cool off after that. Either way, put them to shame a bit, make them feel like what they're doing is wrong and not just "Hey could you please back off? You're not helping really by being there". I mean hell, some people might not have it in them to do this, but personally if you wanna keep an enjoyable environment you should grow some backbone. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - tansytansey - 04-30-2009 I've tried that before. Some people are new to Discovery and are willing, and will become good roleplayers with time. Some people want nothing more than 'pew pew'. My example that I give to you was when I pirated a transport on my P-Trans. The trader tried to get out of paying by saying that he was trading to get an Outcast Destroyer to kill the LN with. I told him he really shouldn't, because there were at least 3 other Destroyers active at that point in time with in Liberty and causing havoc. His response was "My friends think we need more." And as I tried to convince him further not to, he replied with "I think you're just mad because your group won't let you have one." There was no convincing that. He obviously joined the server with a group of friends with an express goal, and didn't care what other people thought or felt. I believe this rule probably should come into play there. Quote:1.2 Server administrators will impose sanctions on players for violating server rules and for any actions that harm server gameplay. But that may be my misinterpretation, as it does not seem to have an effect at all in this situation. There was also a case where I managed to convince a trio of OC Dessies to respect the NY directive, back when it was in effect. So it's not all hopeless, but it just seems so overwhelming. The majority of players seem to straighten out over time, but there are those that don't change at all, and those are the ones everyone notices. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - hribek - 04-30-2009 I believe a fleet of Xeno bombers are a solution. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - Titan - 04-30-2009 Some can't be fixed as I said. Kill them, I never bothered with people that behave idiotic. I simply removed them. The LN had enough support from the indies, LSF and our own LN to be able to remove someone that disrupted the RP of others. I'm not an admin, I told several admins that I'd personally go around and remove people like that from the server. I have no qualms about allowing everyone to play. I don't care if I'm called elitist. But those who'd stay would be those willing to learn to RP and those who can RP. As for others, neither I, nor the server needs them. A small reminder to NY lawfuls - Guest - 04-30-2009 Now, one thing i wish to warn you of, Tomi, you said yourself youre in a bad mood and made a "whine post" as you said on skype. If you are looking for a thread to prove once more that noone can beat you at flamind, take it elsewhere. I am not talking about LNS here, tho you need to have a nail in the head to take your sege cruiser and shoot a lvl 13 bloodhound, so now i must say id rather like to spoon feed those lulwutting idiots a heavy mortair. Oh, wait, attacks only on rp basis. I made a post for the dons and that would help with the oc dessies but its the rogue ones im annoyed of, those who dont visit ny but operate there daily. |
