If I had the money to fund piracy or unlawful attacks, I would do so as well, via relevant unlawful characters. But sadly I am not swimming in cash. I'm hoping that stuff like this can encourage the unlawful factions with relevant zoi to put out some bounties or at least log to pirate the influx of traders.

I am estranged, and find this statement coming from an "Event Developer"... contradictory?

One would guess you are the anointed figure who would theorise, propose, design, and implement these type of events for the sake of activity, and not just as a community member but as someone who has the authority to use Serverside Magic to incentivise. I understand the minor scale of it, and thus the rewards should reflect on that, but more importantly, having a scoreboard incentive can overpower the credit one. Furthermore, you can always note that this would not have any consequences on story, moreover, the winning side can earn a temporary bonus for 1/2/3/4 weeks. i.e;

Unlawful win -- increased fencepoint in the Omega-borne freeports or Kreuzberg and Newport.
Lawful win -- increased buypoint for one or two commodities which primarily finds itself crossing the Omega Border Worlds, in simpler terms, a Rheinland - Bretonia route.

The writeup, the financial incentive, the score incentive, having a reward, and the ensuing activity from the winner's reward are all proponents of activity.

Currently, you lack most of these. All in all, I see a missed opportunity.
