This is based on the Corsair in-story decision. The Penitence could be destroyed for good if they wouldn't decide to reinforce her with ships from Petra or Lagos. It was hinted at as an outcome in the NPC comms.

I wouldn't worry too much, have you seen how many factions the Corsairs are going to be facing over how many systems? Escort missions have unfortunately yet to be truely nailed with ships often dying significantly faster than expected. With no repairships allowed (my repairmeme trackrecord acknowledged) I highly doubt it will reach its final destination even with these changes.

We've just confirmed that the Penitence will be using a special event variant docking module with infinite capacity, so it's strongly recommended that Corsair snubs dock on it at the beginning of the event to set their respawn accordingly.

Look at the details of this ‘event’ - the story is cool, the event premise is cool- the outcome is pre determined.
Why are these events always stacked so heavily in favour of Corsairs?
Current ‘balance’ means a hefty chunk of damage can be dealt by caps but you have to wait 5-6 business days for energy to recharge before you can fire for two more seconds.
That means the x4 base armour & infinite powercore will literally shread through 10+ battleships before it even takes a lick of damage.
If it wasn’t already a predetermined outcome mess, you then add infinite docking and respawning off the ship which is undownable…
Idk..
Edit: I just read it was changed to 10x hull strength, have additional battleships & this was after it was already too much.
What’s next, the cruiser will have guns fitted that have 10k range & down enemy battleships in seconds at 10k range?
The community should just ignore and not log for this pre determined event

FYI to anyone who is only skimming the event thread. The current possible outcomes are:
- If the Penitence arrives mostly unscathed, it will undergo little to no repairs before being available for further use, and will remain as a dockable solar near Freeport 9.
- If the Penitence is severely damaged, it will need extensive repairs, and will need to be towed to Tripoli, where it will remain as an undockable solar for the foreseeable future.
How likely each of these are I leave to your imagination.

If the Penitence can no longer die, how come the event faction caps can't respawn? Sorry if it's a silly question.
Anyway, I will do my best to show up on the powerful (=)BFS-Klaxon but make no guarantees due to ongoing illness -- if I can't make it, someone else will probably fly her for me (this has already been cleared with the admin team).
