Vigilantes - blubba - 06-09-2009 Not sure I agree with this. For a start, I don't believe Vigilantes should operate in the Omegas, Omicrons, Sigmas or Taus. A vigilante is a civilian who has had enough of what going on around him because he feels let down by their local law enforcement, be it that they are not doing enough, the punishment is too lenient etc. A vigilante is not someone who goes out into someone elses country to sort out their problems. It's something done by local people who feel strongly about local issues, locally. He would almost certainly be from an area with a large population, not some tiny mining outfit in the middle of no-where who happen to have fleets of front line fighters flying constant patrols and shoot to kill any pirates they see. Thats hardly justice 'not' being done is it? Looking at Freeports. We see them loaded with bounty hunters who don't get soft on pirates, they kill them and destroy their ships. Why would a vigilante work out of a Freeport? It's not like he wouldn't see justice being done. It would be getting done on a daily basis right infront of him. I think that if we have them, vigilnates should be limited to one house, whichever house they started in. Having said that, in Sirius, the police/navy/military/BH don't arrest criminals. They shoot them. I just don't understand the need for vigilantes With regard to ship choice, I don't see vigilantes running around in bombers. These things kill caps. No police force, let alone Navy, in the right mind is going to allow a fleet of bombers with the capacity to take down one of their battleships to roam around their systems. I'm surprised at the Eagle in a 'real world' sense but I can understand it within the game mechanics. A heavy fighter might have been the better option (Like the Marauder as someone else pointed out). ID states vigilantes can't group with law enforcers but I have seen them regularly sitting together in Texas and on at least two occasions in Bering. They were not grouped but within gun range of each other. Whats the difference? Grouped or ungrouped? The ID just seems to me to be an excuse for PvP over roleplay, considering the other ID's on offer. Vigilantes - Dashiell - 06-09-2009 ' Wrote:WHY does nobody pay attention to MY posts?! Don`t get me wrong. I`m not saying everything should be pew pewwed when getting too close or something. what I mean is that when viginaltes start "operating" a huge mess may follow since they are undiciplined sledgehammers in general. not anything like the police or military, who work within certain bounderies and guidelines. |
