Capships + Traders - MB52 - 06-11-2009 To further complicate things... A smuggler ID, Republican IFFed ship comes to Liberty... then what? Capships + Traders - carlabrams - 06-11-2009 ' Wrote:To further complicate things...ID would have to be Republican - the IFF merely shows that the smuggler has ties to Republican. You MUST - MUST - MUST - check and verify ID first. Capships + Traders - Jinx - 06-11-2009 when a generic pirate IDed player has a corsair IFF - we ask no questions and assume that he is friendly with the corsairs - hence, we wouldn t like it if he was flying an outcast gunship with hacker weapons. i daresay, we can apply the same logic to a smuggler with republican IFF. - he is friendly with the republican - hence is associated with rheinland ( why else would he have a republican IFF.... cause he s friendly with kishiro? ) such a person might not feel the full force against him - like a "full" republican trader ( for that matter - a smuggler is a trader ) ... but he would be met with suspecioun at the very least. - of course - a smuggler with an ageira IFF would be welcomed ( provided he doesn t carry forbidden stuff of course ) Capships + Traders - Slainte - 06-11-2009 ' Wrote:The ID comes first, it's the same thing I've heard as well. When a trader of an enemy nation enters your system, you are perfectly within the rules to demand that the enemy ship drop it's cargo and turn back, if it doesn't - blow it away. /signed......All hail the boy...ermmm..i mean Pipboy.... House shippers should not be in enemy space anyways so this situation should not happen..(sigh)..but alas it does so these ID rules are there for a reason. Go into space that your house is at war with and expect to get caught and spaced by anything that finds you, be it fighter, bomber or cap ship. Capships + Traders - Egon Bigmemes - 06-11-2009 My point here is - It's a game of fairness. The only time you'd want to use a capital ship on a lone trader is if it's a powerhouse of a ship, like the Shire. The Shire can easily scare off a gunboat, so a Cruiser would be wise. And then you'd seem more like a capwhore than doing your job if you got a Battleship and just started pewpewing whoever looked Bretonian. Capships + Traders - Dragon - 06-11-2009 :wacko:Question about Corsairs: DOES Corsair Cap ship can destroy lavfull trader in their ZoI? If it DOES what can do to stop lavfull trader with is terespasing Corsair teritory? ID Let me but also it sems that I can kill every thing with ins not ally to Corsair in Gamma. In the interest of fairness sure, but it wouldnt make any RP sense for you ship no matter what kind it is to just ignore the enemy trader. I don't care if I'm in a battleship or a light fighter, if I see a Libertonian trader in Rheinland I'm going after him. We're RP'ing a war, the Libertonian can't in any way complain that it's unfair for anyone to stop him from trading in Rheinland. If he wants to take the risk of entering enemy territory then he just has to accept the possibility of being killed. Capships + Traders - Agmen of Eladesor - 06-11-2009 ' Wrote::wacko:Question about Corsairs: Okay, this may be a case of you not quite understanding the language. First - the only ones who have cap ships - Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships - must have the Guard on their own ships. Second - this is the Corsair Guard ID: Quote:Corsair Guard ID Within the Omicron Gamma system - and ONLY within the Omicron Gamma system - if any ship does not have an allied ID to you, it's a free target. That does NOTgive Corsair cap ships the right to engage transports in Omicron Theta, Delta, Omega 41, or anywhere else. (The Guard systems that are owned by specific Corsair factions, of course, can still do whatever they want there to trespassers.) Where it's talking abut engaging lawfuls within their Zone of Influence - that's referring to cap ships engaging such things as Bounty Hunters in Omega 3, for example. You can NOT attack transports with cap ships outside of Omicron Gamma - unless of course, the transport for some reason has Corsair pilots in the hold and is stupid enough to not drop them if confronted. Capships + Traders - Dab - 06-11-2009 Do not that the Guard IDs say you MAY attack and demand from hostile traders.. However, it does NOT say you can do so in a capship. Guard IDs are also used for fighters/bombers/transports/GBs. So the ID does not contradict the rules at all. You may demand hostile traders drop cargo and turn back, but you may not do so with a cruiser or battleship.
