But what is the point of that?

I can understand why from an RP point of view if they attack NPC's w/o warning (OOC: Can't really warn them anyhow)

But If I were just a random player, and I got attacked...and blown up by someone random...I'll just respawn and go: "wtf?"

Terrorists should make threats. That is what makes them terrorists. Sure, make it optional, but then you might as well take away the tag, since they are no longer terrorists.

ya, make demands, tell people what to do, be a loud obnoxiuos terrorist. but then no one will like you:(

nah im kidding, it would add alot to the rp element, like the terrorists could focus on one type of cargo, like say red hessians on diamonds, or lanehackers on tradelane parts. i know they arent terrorist, but so far the terrorist groups we have just kill everyone, not trying to instill fear in opne particular group to make them change.

How can you scare people when they know they'll be able to launch again and only have to replace cargo and ammo?

Olsav has a great point.

For instance, why don't the Gaians focus on specific trade goods?

And by threat, I mean making the threat AHEAD of time, like way ahead of time.

X-Vlad is a great example of a good RP terrorist. He posted a msg warning lawfuls about his intended actions...and he uses an impossible to answer demand: 100 Million now!
3, 2, 1!

Also, A word of advice to the terrorists, you might scare your victims more if you seriously damage them, then go away...Except, you do it over and over again, when the least expect it.

perhaps we need a more definite solution to death, or for people to treat it more seriously. perhaps a loss of some credits for death also. like 50%, since you have to replace the ship or repair it and what not.

Yeah, and who exactly is going to launch as their trader with 1.5 billion on it when theres a pirate within 7 systems?

It's hard enough to get traders not to base-camp cos your trying to pirate them as it is, do this and pirating will become pointless.

Contrary to your last submission...Olsav...this Idea is a bad one.

no traders should be wary and hire the mercs we have on the server. use convoys.

and perhaps pirates should use more rp weapons and ships, so it will be a challenge to take a train down with one fighter, as it should be.

Dude thats what we've been saying all along! The problem is getting it thru certain thick skulls.....

I also don't like the idea of penalising traders when they are destroyed as suggested. Ok you "only" lose the cargo you have, but its still a royal PITA, especially coz as soon as you launch again the pirates are sat waiting for you.

And this whole terrorist thing.... for many players it seems to me nothing but a thinly veiled excuse for 3v1 and blatant pwnage, especially coz they only go after soft targets, ie. transports. At least [phantoms] put they're money where their mouth is and attack everyone. Sorry but thats how it seems with the going choice of ships, weps and tactics these days.

And as far as announcing your intention to pirate goes, it seems to me a moot point..... I always thought the definition of piracy (robbery) is, you say "stand and deliver or I blow your head off!" The announcement _is_ part of the piracy.
