A couple of days ago I received a direct comm call from a respeted bounty hunter, notifying me of GST traders and escorts using Freeport 4 in Magellan during their smuggling runs. Transcript of the conversation follows:

Firstly, let it be known that the IMG do NOT have any affiliation with the GST or any smuggler, whether they be independant or in an organised group. We would like you to refrain from saying false statements implicating there being a close relationship between the IMG and the GST, as there is none and most likely will never be one.

The Guild Council is still discussing what actions should to be taken against the GST, or whether any action will be taken at all. However, the following has at least been agreed upon:

- As stated under Edict 63, Freeport 4 is open to all parties. As such, GST vessels are free to dock on FP4 and any other IMG "Freeports".

- However, due to our participation in the Treaty of Curacao, we cannot stop Liberty Navy and Bretonian Armed Forces from attacking or arresting you within Magellan space, although they still have to adhere to the 5km no-fire zone implemented around FP4.

- The IMG also have no obligation within the Treaty of Curacao to stop GST vessels smuggling contraband other than couterfeit software. That being said, we also have no obligation NOT to notify them of your passing through the Magellan system or you currently using our base to refuel..

- Finally, the IMG are steadfast in slowing the trade of cardamine within Sirius, as the profits gained ultimately ends up with the Outcasts. Should you decide to haul this through Magellan or any other system containing IMG activity, be warned - you may have a hard time getting docking permission from any IMG freeport's staff, no matter how much we tell them to be unbiased, and our own pilots in space may not take too kindly to your lack of hindsight as well..

Currently, we would like to think our view towards the GST is neutral until further notice, though evidence of GST vessels carrying cardamine may change this stance. Any other decisions made by the IMG may be posted here, either by me, our Guildmaster or the other directors. IMG supervision of Freeport 4 will increase to ascertain whether further initiatives are needed in light of increased smuggler activity, though we hope further action need not me taken.

Your declarations, remarks, advices, threats & opinions are beeing taken into account by our GST Security Council.

Mostly private replies will follow within a few days, but three things have already to be said:

First, we want to warmly thank factions and individuals expressing their wish to cooperate, or stay neutral, or just giving us advice or even verbal support, for their courage. Given the fact that GST is confronting such powerful factions in several central or key systems, these declarations forced our admiration.

Second, no GST ship normally would dock on Freeports with, let's say, barely legal commidities in cargo. If we're docking with such... eh... nearly illegal cargo, it has to be for refueling after some combat or difficult escape move forcing us to refuel countermeasures, nanorobots or shields. The security of Freeports in the future is the second priority of GST, coming close behind our first priority: protect our teams and cargos.

Third, a most honorable member of the Liberty Navy expressed here the statement GST could have attacked lawful vessels in Liberty space with Cruisers. We must deny this, at least since the discovery of Galia and its diplomatic consequences, the exile of GST from Zoner Faction and the adoption of the Smuggler Code. The Smuggler Code strictly forbids the use of such capital ships. GST doesn't even use gunboats, which are forbidden to smugglers, too.
By the way, "attacking" is no usual strategy of GST. If three of our S-Wing veterans once actually attacked (and then escaped) seven lawful VHFs, bombers and capital ships in front of Houston (2 months ago), it was (I might say it now) only a diversion action to make it possible for some other smugglers (among them one GST-tagged) to transit safely through Texas system. That's what GST's doing, never forget it: Saving freighters (or their cargos, ahem) of GST and other, more discrete smuggler teams.

Dear Sir/Madam who is head of the GST,

Upon a brief inspection of how this GST former Zoner faction now operates under the guise of a smuggler operation/s, is frankly in my analysis, foolish. While there will always be smugglers as long as there is a law, this is not intangible.

What is tangible is your reactions and your inability to see how your verbal actions are putting your operations, lives, vessels and 'nearly-illegal-cargo' at risk.

While the Sentinels has had no inside knowledge of how all smugglers work, this much I am able to comprehend. Smugglers do not openly bait House law enforcement officers or tell them about their apparent amazing tactics of diversion. Diversionary tactics only work under stealth and secrecy. Now that you have told everyone on this communication channel on how you run-the-line, you have also given the Sentinels the ability to find where the GST are performing these so called diversion tactics.

We're not human us Sentinels, but we are programmed to uphold the law. If to uphold the law is to interdict smugglers, we will do so alongside our masters the LPI, and LN.

Sir/Madam of the GST. I am not human. But I'm human enough to know, your lives are at risk, come to your senses. You are almost openly hunted wherever you go, unwelcome wherever you go. This is not the life of the smuggler, its the life of the hunted. While profits now may be tangible, your lives are not.

I want to put the stress on the fact that being the only tagged Company officially smuggling in Sirius doesn't mean we're ignoring or scorning other smuggler captains, pilots and groups. On the contrary, we are proud to be sometimes usefull to many of them as the best DIVERSION for the various and highly interesting activities of our fellow smugglers.

GST does not pretend not to be transporting slaves from Liberty space through Bretonia into Paria Territory. Indeed, we happen to have some original political contacts on Malta, which you could call "libertadores". Their interest is not to use these slaves on their cardamine fields, nore to make them dependent of cardamine, like the rest of the population of this planet. Their goal is, on the contrary, to offer them the possibility of starting a new life. The way we and our friends offer them a new life is, of course, secret. Just be sure we're not transporting despaired humans, but pioneers full of hope.

So much for the Human Rights part.

As for the "if you get there me and my boss will kick you out of there" part, we have no diplomatic answers. Just remember each time you're vainly chasing one of our ships, dozens of more discrete smugglers paying us for the diversion might run your ridiculous blockade.

I am sure that somewhere, in the midst of your drug fueled, slave-girl debauchery you actually considered the reaction the Coalition might give to your brazen statements about your activities.
