That happens already Jinx. The 'focus' of the guns is not perfect. it can be observed with guns firing at an incoming projectile or NPC.

I can just sit back and watch the shots cross in front of the target - forming a nice little 'X' in space as a result of the autoaim.

Is there a maximum focal point for the targeting reticule?

Leave it as it is ... if you cant aim its your problem:)... i all i do is going for damn little cross ... and it works (guns, snac, razors ) ... i don't see problem ... maybe when players or npcs dodge you miss (if you miss when someone is dodging ,someone will miss you when you are dodging , no problem) ..but without it you wouldn't hit anyone... in some hard turns cross isn't working for slower weapons (like magma hammers) you just fix it by moving aim in front of cross ... i don't really see point of this topic

Edit: Incoming projectiles are small and guns are supposed to hit 100 times bigger things ... take a pistol and try hit fly in air and you will know how it is ( you cant hit it ) but auto aim still can hit projectiles and little npcs , not with every shot fired but it can

I think it's how they programmed it, were the targeting is the problem and the auto-aim is not. As targeting a ship (cause you can't target more than on thing at a time duh) with non-targeted entities are in the background with the auto-aim trying to align the guns on the closest entity (were there's nothing to tell the auto-aim: "Align on -TARGETED- entity, not that speck of dust.).

So, auto-aim is win.

And targeting is fail.
