This Weeks Hypothetical Scenario - Bear - 08-25-2009 Could we not just make CODENAME weapons Special request only? like when your wanting to RP a researcher or something and your researching new types of weapons. that would cut out the farming aspect all together and people would have to work for their special weapons. Or we could just take codes out the game altogether because really, I can't see the point of them, most faction class 9's are just as good if not better. You just don't get a capitalized name. Just my thoughts. This Weeks Hypothetical Scenario - Agran Harper - 08-25-2009 Either way, it will not be just as easy as we would think as of now. Its not a simple "either / or" decision. Anyway, just a different server reset will do not really anything to prevent farming of Codenames, since their original location will remain the same. It also just pisses players of because they are used to the specific downtime anyways. Completely removing Codenames from the game will also result in every single codename weapon removed from ships, thus having a lot of people be offend. It also takes apart a vital part of Freelancer, which would be exploration and the related reward. Because of this reason, my suggestions are geared towards reduced / non-farm-able possibilites. I'd also vote for NEW codenames introduced that basically do NOTHING but just are there, (perhaps starting out as a commodity / construction scetch) and eventually grow into a weapon that can be crafted with tons of RP and lots effort, particular dangerous as well. Perhaps, over time, there can be a decent mixture of rare original codenames, and "dropped" codename sketches to be reverse engineered and then produced?
