The Privateer Bay - LancerZero - 04-27-2010 Comm ID: Sir Martin Barclay Location: Gibraltar, Tau-23 System Residual radiation from those blasted ion storms that ravaged Sirius these last few weeks has wrought havoc with my fighters' sensors and targeting. I did manage to complete a handful of training missions in my fighter today, however; it's roughly halfway to combat-ready. I sent word to Gibraltar to prep my Challenger for liftoff upon news that a RepEx heavy transport had recently run the blockade from Kusari, but due to delays stemming from radiation damage, my Challenger remained grounded while the transport got away. RepEx-Brizo was the name, I believe. The Privateer Bay - LancerZero - 05-12-2010 Comm ID: Sir Martin Barclay Location: Gibraltar, Tau-23 System Bad news and good news, I'm afraid. Some clumsy miner decided my bomber was occupying a hangar slot better suited for his Dacite, and proceeded to try to squeeze the damn thing in with my Challenger. There was a minor altercation when he finally disembarked from his craft, and I was quite forced to deck him and eject his mining craft from the hangar, with the help of a sympathetic pair of technicians. He woke up to my bombardier giving him the hairy eyeball whilst I inspected the bomber for damage. The port engine was utterly ruined, or nearly so; so, rather than having the docking sequence for another hangar remotely activate his Dacite, we, ah...persuaded him that perhaps it might, after all, be best if he were to don a spacesuit and go out to retrieve his wayward ship. It may take another day or two to repair my bomber's engine. I swear...if I didn't know better, I'd be convinced they truly believe they own the place. As if they could've held the place for a day without our presence. At any rate preparations continue apace for our pending relocation to Kirkwall. Perhaps they will be better hosts than our oft-haughty countrymen aboard Gibraltar. Hearing news reports from New London, it is refreshing to know that at least the general populace is appreciative of our efforts, even if the Bretonian miners we have protected sometimes forget the forces that have made their continued presence - and profits - possible. The Privateer Bay - LancerZero - 05-16-2010 Comm ID: Sir Martin Barclay Location: Kirkwall Base, Orkney System My Challenger is finally repaired, re-armed, and ready for combat. Additionally, my bombardier and I have relocated to Kirkwall Base, as ordered. The living area in the top of the station that the Outcasts have cleared of Cardamine for us is somewhat sparse, and a little cramped, but clean. Some of our technicians and "ground" crew are already present with basic equipment spares, fuel, and reloads for our bombers. I wonder how long the T31GCS (without us, it will no longer be Gibraltar in my mind) will stand without us to defend it? Hard to be terribly sympathetic towards BMM in this case, seeing as we offered to purchase the base from them, and they refused on the grounds that it would then be unavailable for them to mine from in a post-war environment...conveniently neglecting to consider how Bretonia would actually reach a post-war environment in which she has access to Tau-23. Their loss. The Privateer Bay - LancerZero - 06-04-2010 Comm ID: Sir Martin Barclay Location: Sealed-off levels of Kirkwall Base, Orkney System I contacted Mike and Nathan, and we agreed to meet in Kusari space for a bit of beating up the various and sundry eaters of sushi and rice products and appropriating their goods. We joined up in between planet New Tokyo and the Shikoku gate; Mike had a particularly productive time, I'm told, before Nathan and I arrived. our first victim was a Junker in a pirate transport. I wouldn't normally post something as mundane as a communications log, but this particular individual displayed a dismaying lack of comprehension of the realities of trading in Kusari. Midway through the conversation, a researcher in a Shire under the name Oldman came through, and I kept an eye on the Junker whilst Mike and Nathan took the Shire. ![]() Quote:[04.06.2010 18:41:52] Shadow.Iron: haha...stoling Kishiro technology to Bretonia...what do you feel Kusari?? This is where he opened fire...I immediately hit him with a SNAC and launched a Nova, only to realize he was actually shooting at the police. He soon ceased fire, in any case, and offered me a single unit of optronics. I'm still not sure why, and my bombardier was also at a loss. Of course, he was also trying to keep our torpedo tubes aimed at the transport whilst I flitted about on thruster in case the junker suddenly opened fire, so he may have lacked the time to properly consider the question. Quote:[04.06.2010 18:45:32] Shadow.Iron: hold your fire pls After ten minutes, he decided he'd had enough. I maintain that the poor lad suffers from a most unfortunate mental disorder that prevents him from understanding certain situations...namely, those in which his continued good health depends upon timely payment. I rather doubt our message got through, unlike our torpedoes. It seems that my nova was prematurely detonated while I was in its radius by the detonation of Nathan's disruptor, and my bomber took heavy damage. I can take some consolation that the explosion happened at the same instant that Mike's SNAC struck the transport's now-damaged hull, ensuring it wouldn't be spaceworthy again anytime soon. Later, I was in Kyushu, not too far from the Tau-23 jump hole when a pair of Kusari freelancers appeared; one in a Corsair gunboat, and the other in an Alliance bomber. I fled along the outer rim of the system, making my way towards the New Tokyo gate to meet Mike and Nathan so that we could fight them together. Since I couldn't find any mention of these Kaizoku in any resource I could name, I have attached the communications log so that you all may reach your own conclusions. Quote:04.06.2010 19:04:29] Yuka.Kaizoku: seems like one is lost... At this time, I was within scanner range of the New Tokyo gate - there was nary a soul there. Mike and Nathan had themselves been ambushed by a much stronger force consisting of KNF, Hogosha, and Alliance vessels, and were thus unable to come to my aid. With my bomber damaged and no way to escape, my bombardier and I chose to gamble in an effort to find out more about this Kaizoku group, and perhaps to remain in the bomber and not in our escape pods. Quote:[04.06.2010 19:12:50] Yuka.Kaizoku: about time you'de stop... I engaged my cruise engines, and set a course back to Tau-23. Quote:[04.06.2010 19:14:38] Yuka.Kaizoku: now since we are headed your way anyway... I can make sure you obey *grins* Once in Tau-23, they left me. The presence of a Cartel ship may have influenced their decision, though I receieved reports of them plying their trade in Tau-31 later. I flew back to Kirkwall to resupply and repair. They fly Corsair and FA craft, yet they dislike the navy. I've come to the conclusion that they are simply independents, though how they managed to scrabble together the resources to finance such an operation, I am unsure. Nor would they hint at who their "masters" were, save for the simple fact of the ships they flew. It is possible they can be negotiated with; however, they are independents who seem to have ties to the Corsairs. And as such, it is more likely to be in our best interests to simply see to it that their warships suffer from, ah, SNAC-induced metal fatigue. Quite a shame, you know. Affects many a ship of late. The Privateer Bay - Stoat - 07-09-2010 ###Decoding incoming transmission### Comm ID: Fortunatus Wright, KBE Location: ***scrambled*** Thought this was worthy of reporting. I hopped into my gunboat for a quick patrol around Tau-23. Comms had picked up garbled reports from Java of a Hogosha vessel being seen in the area. I thought it prudent to teach the bastards a lesson if I was lucky enough to run into them. As luck would have it, I did! A lovely big fat Dragon transport, stuffed to the gills with niobium ore. ![]() He was just able to keep his distance from me in the asteroids, but as he approached the jump to Kyushu, I knew I had him. As soon as I followed him through the hole, I powered up the weapons systems, and as I popped out the other side a well placed cruise disruptor killed his engines. Still he tried to run, but with my guns ripping into his hull as his shielding buckled, he whimpered in terror and supplication, begging for his life like the lowliest New London street trash. I forced him to jettison his cargo, and he complied with barely a murmur, running off to call his snakes with longer fangs. I made sure he knew it was me that had stolen his ore. I put in a call to Gibraltar for one of the lads to come collect the ore, but no-one was able to make it to my position before two Yakuza converged on my position. I destroyed the ore, and as I made tracks for Tau-23 I caused what damage to the Yakuza I could. I'm glad to say I made it back to Gibraltar safely, and from there swapped into my Templar to pursue one of the Kaizoku that had been ratted out to us in Tau-29. Nathan came along as well. As we made way to Tau-29, we ran into some idiot in a kusari transport, hauling super conductors. When challenged, he had a brain fart and admitted to me that he was shipping the cargo directly to Kusari! I laughed so hard I almost forgot to blow the bastard to pieces. Nathan and I tore him to pieces as soon as I'd stopped laughing. ![]() We were unable to locate the Kaizoku unfortunately. The name's Hone_Nathan, and Im flying a Gunboat - Gotta be prepared for anything in the wilds of Kusari. Well thats all for now, Cheerio [font=Fixedsys]*Line Closed* The Privateer Bay - Stoat - 08-14-2010 ###Decoding incoming transmission### Comm ID: Fortunatus Wright, KBE Location: ***scrambled*** I decided to relocate to Bretonian space for a while, as pickings are getting so slim in the Taus these days. It feels like we've been too successful at our job lads. As I was making my way there, I caught wind of some Kusari chatter that smelled of trouble. Daring all, I took the gate into Leeds from Tau-31, and my suspicions were confirmed. A Kusari destroyer just entered the tradelane as I jumped into the system. I was easily able to avoid the Kusari fire - their gunners are getting fat and lazy as they hide from our forces - and headed for Stokes. Two Kusari dessies awaited me there, and attempted a crude attempt at waylaying me. An attempt that was rather pathetic. I was easily able to evade them, and headed for Leeds to raise the alarm. The BAF soon rallied, and when they Kusari arrived, reinforced by one of those bloody gunboats of theirs and a Spatial (of all things), we made short work of them. I'm happy to say I got the killing blow on a few of the bastards myself. . . ![]() Wright out ###Transmission ends### The Privateer Bay - Stoat - 09-26-2010 ###Decoding incoming transmission### Comm ID: Fortunatus Wright, KBE Location: ***scrambled*** Bretonian space is proving more rewarding than I expected. I've dealt with several traders still trying to run the lanes between Stokes and the 31 gate, but the best part has been getting involved in terminating several attempted incursions by Kusari forces. Many times have they closed on Leeds and attempted to bombard the planet, and every time the BAF beats them back. I am honoured to fight alongside them, as the darkness that threatens to engulf our great House deepens. I have even been able to get a couple of kills in myself. Two stinking Hogosha, no less. ![]() Take care of the distillery while I am absent from Gibraltar, eh lads! I had a very busy day in the Taus today and I will share with you some of my adventures. Act I - Kusarian Spa and Cruise Right in front of Planet Harris, two transports were making their final preparations for a trip when I came. One of the transports was a... J90P - 54HT "Big Dragon" Kusari Transport. Unfortunately for the men and women on that ship, my guns decided they have to die for being on the Big Dragon. After this, his friend, started to accuse me of being a murderer and I couldn't just let him lie. So I killed him to prove he was right. ![]() ![]() Act II - Republican Zoner
I found this guy in Tau-29. I was this close to shoot him down when I saw that his ship is transmitting the Zoner identification. Fortunately for him, he managed to tell me in a very bad sirian that he's actually a trader for Republican Shipping. He also told me that he's heading to Macduff to give us some military vehicles. Of course I escorted him to the battleship to make sure that was his real intention. [font=Times New Roman][[color=#FFFFFF]-][-][-][-] Open attachment? [[color=#33FF33]Y][N][-][-][-][-]
![]() ![]() ![]() Act III - The Yellow Invaders
Those pathetic yellow worms decided to send more capital ships to destroy our world. However, they met the wrong bomber pilot. I took the liberty of lighting them. First the fighters, then the gunboats, and then the cherry on the cake, the heavy gunboat, or destroyer, that depends how you see it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Act IV - Greycliffe
After the fight with the Kusarians, I had a nice talk to the captain of this beauty. He even replenished my regenerators and brought some military vehicles to Macduff. He also told me about some fighter patrols in Kyushu but nothing big so I decided to end this very nice day. [font=Times New Roman][[color=#FFFFFF]-][-][-][-] Open attachment? There's all kinds of cloak and dagger stuff going on at Trafalgar. I keep on catching snatches of conversation, and though I can't pin anything down, I'm feeling uneasy. Something is brewing lads, something big, and I don't think we're going to like it. I'll keep my ears and eyes open, and let you know if I find anything concrete. On a brighter note though, the Kusari forces here in Leeds are becoming more inept by the day. It seems we've managed to take out most of their capable commanders, and they're having to rely on the real dross of the military to command their capital vessels. I hooked up with the BAF lads again yesterday, to repel a KIF battlegroup. Two battleships and a gunboat, later joined by three Hogosha. We were able to take out both of the battleships and the gunboat with only the loss of a privateer GB going by the name of Trafalgar. Not one of ours, but I hope the skipper and crew got out alive. The remaining Hogosha legged it after that, so I joined up with the BAF lads on the Derby for a few bevvies. But damn me if some of the shrapnel from the exploding battleships didn't rip into my guncam array, so I got no pretty pictures to be showing you. Sorry about that lads, I'll do better next time Wright out ###Transmission ends### ###Decoding incoming transmission### Comm ID: Fortunatus Wright, KBE Location: ***scrambled*** Hah!
