The only point I can see is people wanting all these commands to do things for them instead of playing the game, enjoying themselves whilst doing it.
Either that, or it was just "+1".

I think in certain situations the command comes in handy.
You may use it, for example, if you get a Xeno tag and it would be OORP to fly out of your ZOI to change it..

Yes, that would be even better. One of my LN Guard chars is green with Corsairs because I/the guy who repped him for me (ty;)) killed a lot of Outcasts, and the only way to fix this would be heading into the ZOMiGrons and committing genocide on 'sair NPCs, which isn't exactly a lot of fun...
A /resetrep command would be nice as well, although I'd prefer a /setrep $faction command.
