Ima point this out that there are lolwutters and greifers that refuse to RP, Curse, Yell, SNAC snipe ETC.

A common One is: STP WIT TEH RP CRP! , when asked to change

My advice: change your terminology and refrain from using hateful / insulting terms. Thank you.
Because in here, what you type is who you are. Calling people names does not make the you any better, I think.
There are things you can learn from new or different people, too. I suppose bad language would be one of them. But there's also a few positive ones. Can you find your own?

Give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and try to be their friend. Then they will most likely listen to what you have to say.

I agree with Hribek. The creation of an "us-vs-them" server environment is not beneficial for the overall health of this place. Do not further exacerbate perceived "problems" by making threads like these. There is no "epic struggle with lolwutters". Most of the problems here could probably be solved by less arrogance from forum members. Friendliness and understanding would be much more effective at resolving issues than with ignorance, hostility and anger.

I think I should make a new term.
Phrase-wutters.

Having read this entire thread, I'll say this:

We all come here to enjoy ourselves. Some players can and will act completely out of line, given that this is a role play server. That is to be expected. One reason may be ignorance, which can be remedied with some understanding and patience on the part of those who 'know' what they are doing, to assist those who are just learning. Another reason may be that they choose NOT to participate in direct RP and prefer a Player vs. Environment scenario, meaning they don't want an in depth interaction with other players in RP. Obviously, we could cry FOUL... and wrong server... "GO HOME NOOB" or whatever... We could choose to ignore them. We could choose to write lengthy posts and comment on said posts to address the issue, but in the end, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans, as folks are going to do what they are going to do, regardless of what you and I have to say about it. That's called human nature.

Setting up and us vs. them scenario is not exactly warming my heart and I'll tell you why:

Discovery is not a server. It is not a box with a CPU, RAM and a Harddrive connected to a data center somewhere. Discovery is not this forum. Discovery is not a version of a modded game. Discovery is not any of these things.

Discovery is a community of people who have invested their time and energy into developing an environment for both their own enjoyment and the enjoyment of others. Each brings something to the table, the value of which I leave to the individual's judging. We are a multi cultural environment, which means language will be an issue. Cultural mores and values will clash. However, we all do manage to muddle through it all and hopefully get on to the business of having fun.

If everyone did as I mandate... we'd all have a much better time, right? (Wrong).

I'm going to share a little secret with you. Ready?

........ The only power we truly have in this environment is over ourselves......

That is to say...we control who we give our time and attention and energy to. If it becomes to stupid for words... why bother to speak at all? Carry on, do your thing and spend your valuable resources wisely.

I enjoy interacting with all of you and yes I too get frustrated, but I won't let that 'rain on my parade' I exercise control over myself and carry on. I want to have fun when I am here. And you guys help make that happen. I thank you for that.

Be well,

That was reather emotional end. heh I agree with that one.

But I believe the problem are those who come to RP server without intend to do actual RP (where some of them tend to buy caps). If I meet someone like that it actualy ruins my fun ingame. I haven't been acive on forums for quite some time, but I play on the server for like two or three years. And all the time I meet guys who don't....play nice. Like that guy with zoner ID and BMM tag, who just rushed at me and engaged without a word. He said he's used to kill everything red. I mean what the hell is that? Or the other guy I discribed in my previous post here. And that just not a rare case... People like these are not actualy "helping others to have fun", are they? The server was created for those who want to socialize, not for fraghunters. I personaly sort of hate PvP...mostly. Especialy random PvP. That might actualy be the reason why do I lack any piloting skills.

Still I mostly meet good RPers so I try not to get upset with Lawls who don't listen and it goes well so far.

dont forget Ritsuka, "Engaging #t !!!" is not good roleplaying, one setmsg before blowing up traders is as bad as capital pilots shooting at everything red.

its not against the rules, but its bad form. people want to enjoy playing.

Actually, I'd say it is against the rules. "Engaging #t" is not roleplaying period.

Umm...if I recall corectly, we had a local "conversation" before... full of lols and stuff. And I deeply apologise for that #t on chat, I thaught I can use it in non-set message as well.

Weren't you that roflmaer? Or did I kill you when you were heading LD-14? You complain sort of too much for my taste...

Quote:ANSWER 1 step one: Doing it the way it is proposed in the initial thread -> limit the purchasing of battleships to player factions which have to accept the application of a pilot who wants to become a member AND to SOME individuals who are granted the usage of such a ship.

Yeah,
This will not work, as for the admins cut official factions power.
I have read all of this. It is all pretty much the same as everyone else is saying.. Lolwutters are insanely annoying but there is no good way to get rid of them, and probably never will be unfortunately.
