Actually, it probably would make far more sense if Daumann made a heavily armored transport, after all they have the Hessians breathing down their neck where ever they go.

This looks like a Battlecruiser to me...

I think Kruger would have more reason for armored transport - hazardous mining conditions, Hessians and heavy involvement in 80-years war..
Thing is, Daumann is also into mining but reading some rumors, they also transport other goods, trying to compete with Republican, so it would make more sense that they invest in more cargo.

Daumann and Republican are most certainly not competing in the shipping business. In Rheinland, you have Daumann, the pre-eminent manufacturing and mining corporation. Despite having a massive start in mining, with Rhenish ore reserves falling and rising risk in the Omegas, the corporation is shifting to a more manufacturing style. They produce pretty much everything in Rheinland, from hull panels to engines, from diamonds to lasers. Republican is the one that ships all of Daumann's goods.

Think of it this way: Daumann owns the stations and manufacturing plants, Republican just moves the stuff between them.

Kruger, on the other hand, is attempting to do the same as Daumann, but they're failing. After the massive failure that was the Sigma expansion, Kruger has been barely holding up. They're reliant on mineral extraction for all their revenue. By associating themselves with ALG, they hope to have gained a shipper and ally capable of rivaling the massive Republican/Daumann conglomerate. ALG is more of a rogue corporation in Rheinland, going against so many of the steadfast rules in Rhenish business. They provide benefits to their employees, are willing to adapt and adjust to varying business climates, and are attempting to become Rheinland's secondary ship constructor.

Unless it is said otherwise, all ships in Rheinland are manufactured by Daumann and Republican. All Rhenish warships, transports, etc. Daumann/Republican. Only the ALG Heavy Mover, I believe, has any hints that it isn't a predominately Daumann/Republican project. Of course, it is also constructed by Republican, much to both corporation's dislike, as ALG has not yet constructed Dortmund Shipyard.

I made it a little bit longer and changed small details. But the rear section (the cargo box) looks ugly to me.

I'd never thought i would ever say this...in fact i might have to whip myself 13 times with a cats tail...to atone my sins...

But I love that vessel, Thee remake of the smaller details are a step in a very right direction. Kudos.

edit: Let me explain I have never liked anything designed in Rheinland Systems, but this i like.

Rheinland model - Cyberanson - 09-06-2009

Well, thanks.:)I am happy to hear that from a rather non-Rheinlander.

But my problem is still the rear section: what shall I do with the box above the engine? Right now I am thinking about completely tossing this big bulky engine out and adding a new one, designed by clever ALG Waste Disposal engineers. It would look more rectangular, but I hope I can maintain the Rheinlandish look.

I actually think the box above it looks great... Like one of those campers. The engines also look wonderful.

Only changes I would make would be to round the box above it a bit.

I'm kind of anti-Rheinny (LN here) but I must say, that could be quite an awesome ship! It's sort of a cross between a tanker, a cruiser, and a carrier...

A Tankruiserrier?
