Power will not regenerate while engine killed, either.

Shields will not regenerate while cruising, either.

The only issue left here with this power drain is that the devs dont want to admit that they're wrong, and revoke it.

power will not regen if you are in e-kill and going faster then 200

shields wont regen if you dont have any power (that can be avoided by changes to the shields since their regen power usage is is very low and barely affects anything - not counting transports in this)

These new power drain "feature" is stupid, useless and it makes the mod less enjoyable:(.

I dont know a mod where these stuff is used, than why must Discovery implement it? Couse its more realistic? Then redone the whole FL universe, couse there is no cubic meter in the space that is realistic in Sirius...

The only positive about these drain can be if the energy comes back immediately or after 1-2 seconds after leaving the cruise speed, but the best solution is to remove these feature.

Where at first I thought...

"Well, this makes sense, I mean what do the cruise engines run on anyway, twinkies?"

I then got cdspammed, and shieldstripped before i could return fire. This mechanic makes for great ambush hunting, and lolwut piracy, but unless there's some drastic game mechanincs change, including NPC behaviour, I think it's gonna cause much more pain than it's gonna create realism.

Thats my two cents, but i need a token for the subway so i'm taking one back

What insane ship designer designs his cruise engines to eat up all the available power on the ship, even threatening to kill the life support? Thats just nuts!

ALTERNATIVE... Have cruise engines drain say 50% or 75% or heck even 90% of power, THAT makes more sense in a realism / nerf the speed attack contest. That way, you could at least return fire after being CD'd or on a high speed drift. You simply couldnt go on a pewpewpewpew rage untill you gave yourself some space to recoup the energy.

Totaly agree with this. If nothing is broken, no need to fix it, there is really no need to this power drain.
For example, you cruise in open space, betwen two jumpholes, and on half of your way, pirate CD you.. What can you do, nothing. Thrust speed Transports = 150, Bombers = 200. Just this sucks hard.
