You might have a point - if shields recharge when you cruise. I don't know if they do or not, with the power consumptions.

Oh Great, now players that don't know English and care only the Blue Msgs can freely cruise after me with their Capital ships and blow me up when I try to thrust away with 200.
Thanks guys, that really solved all the problems.

actually.

Cap gets into cruise... at the sec it hits 350 EK and about 1 mortar and some rounds with primes is left or the energy..... more then enough to kill a gunboat or fighter/bomber

Maybe a weak cruiser too XD

Capships just got awesome

So for clarity, as I am a bit thick!

I am pirating in my gb or pirate transport, I CD a transport and he starts to thrust away, so now I can enage cruise to catch him, drop out CD him again, he thrusts I cruise etc etc. This is Ok yes??

Actually, there is regen, on account of having 00.01% of your energy. But it is very small and not enough to make shield running worthwhile

EDIT: Yes, you can cruise to catch up now. You would have to drop out of cruise and wait 5 seconds for weapon power though, so it would be tricky.

Well if nothing else, thee changes have sparked some serious discussions. *smiles.

In that five seconds, you've still got half a dozen gunboats and a Battleship suddenly right next to you.

The only thing that can now be done escape-wise is to cruise before they do :/

DUUUDEEEEEEE

Totally awsome.

I can think of about a hundred ways that this can be abused. I'll go do all of them untill you change it back.

Please see the bottom quote in my sig.

This makes cruisers very effective against BSs....BS can cruise towards them, but they do not have power to fire on them.

Well most... my poor LABC doesn't have a thruster..so it can't thrust to safety.. there is no way to get out of the cruising BS's range before it blows me out of the sky.

Ok, much as I hate to admit it, this one I like.

situation:
Pilot A is flying a capship, and having a helluva time hitting pilot B who flies a bomber, and with skill, is able to actually take down pilot A's capship.

However, Pilot A gets lucky with two shots and ALMOST kills pilot B, who realizes he may have bitten off more than he can chew, and bolts like a bunny.

In the past, Pilot A would engage cruise engines and give chase, only to recieve the radio call from pilot B, "Hey thats against the rules!!!"

Whereupon pilot A would say "Oh, yeah..." and just give up, go home and have a brew?

Really?

Like, fer real?

frankly, i like this one.

(oh, and Im almost positive the Admins did this to reduce the literally hundreds of misguided sanction reports that they have to shuffle though to get to the real ones. I'm guilty of misunderstanding the original rule myself, and bothering the admins with foolish reports...*hangs head* but honesty is liberating, so I feel better now)
