In reality, I can imagine a battleship stalking the edges of a field and sending in fighters to chase the enemy out towards them.

I`d like some laws of physics though, yes Battleships totally need to be knocked around a bit, it would be annoying. But seriously, hitting a rock and it doesnt move an inch! At least if they moved it would be slightly easier to move about. Also, if a battleships shields can withstand multiple antimatter warheads then the asteroids wouldnt do much(if any) damage, they`d just be hyper annoying.

' Wrote:The most stupid thing i have ever done was trying to move a zoner juggernaught from o-theta to cambridge. Even made a post about it and pleaded admins to move me back to planet cambridge with that ship. I made it back though but i felt the eye-burning and brain-melting concept deep in my heart in the nearly 2 hours period lasting long journey.

If the battleships had the ability to roam freely in asteroid fields, well most of the battleships would be made obsolote such as adv. bstar or etc which are preferred by players since they move slightly easier in the rocks than the real big arse battleships. Still its not a wise idea to take any battleship into the rocks if you do not have the guts to venture out meeting unfortunate facts.

You shouldn't take ANY BS, even the small Osiris, or the battlecruisers, into that Omega-5 system.. I don't have a clue what was in your head when you did that..

Oh god. I did that with an Albatross once; took me sixteen hours to get across the stinking system.

You're kidding, right? Guys, I make that trip in my Osiris all the time. Just manual, and strafe.

And in a BS, if you get all turned around from hitting asteroids, just exit out of cruise, turn back to your original course, and go. Seriously, it's not that hard once you get the hang of it. Or just go around, through omega 3...

:lol:Well, the idea was to return the battleship quickly back to Cambridge. But it turned into a nightmare.

Using a battleship requires strafing skills which I already agree with you. However, once you enter in omega-5 with a zoner juggernaught a nightmare that cant even be imagined begins. I dont recommend nobody to try this experiment at home :D
