Invent that Gas! - tansytansey - 12-28-2009 shrink down the 'volitile gas cloud' models, turn them into mineable asteroids, and shoot away! For maximum lulz, put these mineable clouds inside the volitile gas fields, and beef up the damage done by each cloud so it gives transports something to be afraid of. Is it that hard to tractor in the loot instantly or simply do a 5 minute survey before deciding that they'll mine next to two huge mines... I always thought mining is an optional risky but rewarding thing that not everyone needs to be master of. Yes, I see what you mean Dusty - mining Orgs in Beta is closer to the point of sale - without needing to pay out 100 credits a piece. There isnt any distinction between Orgs in Beta, Kurile, Freeport 9, or anywhere else. As for Scrap - why not turn it into an ore-like commodity, and delete the low buy points? Designate your fields, and the sell points to match? As for Helium-3 mining - what about very small mineable zones around the stationary Gas Miners? Enough only to spawn a few rocks at a time - so that miners have to spread out among the Gas Miners in the system? This reduces the unrealistic look of 'frozen' Helium in space, and makes the Gas Miners known gathering points, without the extra work figuring out how to 'extract' directly from the miner. This thread may have run its course. Invent that Gas! - Markus_Janus - 12-28-2009 This is really shaping up to be a good idea, finally the miners can mine something. This should help to give the GMG faction even more meaning as they have had this missing for long enough. Kudos for thinking of it and putting it all together guys. Of course with this now thought of in a viable way to be put into the mod, I am sure this would be added to Hokkaido as well? Maybe a nice little bonus to mining this commodity, while not as high as the GMG bonus could be added to the Samura ID as well?
