Search for Device Manager on your hard drive. Open up the application, shouldn't be that hard to find.

:unsure:Dunno, try opening up your compy and checking the connections. AND make sure you have drivers installed and such (As if it doesnt appear in device manager, its drivers dont exist, am I right, Korrd?)

I'm going to answer for Korrd on this. My computer still recognizes drives, it just doesn't use them unless there are drivers on the computer. I suggest you do a System Restore.

Well I'm not refering to the system restore but I have a solution that may be pretty much the same thing that was said already. I had a problem fairly similar to this, this is how I fixed it.

Turn on your computer. On the startup screen normaly it will tell you a button to go to system options or something like that (BIOS). Mine says, press F2 to go to options. Then on mine there are some tabs along the top. I press the right arrow to get over to the one that says "Configuration". After you do that, there should be an option for USB. Go down to that and make sure it says "Enabled". Mine was disabled for some reason and acted similar to yours.
