in regards to the ACTUAL topic....
it's common sense guys, i personally don't wanna see bad language in IC or OOC. a slip here and there in actual talking is one thing but actually typing out the word is more deliberate. that's my two cents.
ps. oh i forgot another one i use in place of "goober" at times

1. What do you define as "bad" (i.e. sanctionable)
2. I'm afraid "common sense" just ain't
Now by your own admission you don't like swearing, so are you gonna get offended if I say "bastard"? What if an NPC says it?
@Mal you missed one: "f**ing", but I read somewhere that's unacceptable.

like i said saying and typing are two different things, we can't change what the game says for certain. and chances are if i'm chatting with someone via voice or whatever and they swear, i probably won't notice it. Typing it however takes more of a conscious effort.
as for what is considered bad? i'm not the one to judge, seeing as if someone reeeally wanted to get picky they could say anything is offensive

If you have to ask, then don't use it.
Rule of thumb, simple as that. You can insult people in RP with scum, fool, idiot, as long as it's not repetitive, and it serves a purpose.
You don't need to have every rule and regulation pointed out. Follow the spirit of the law. We're trying to protect the younger members of Discovery, such as myself, who is already corrupted:P, from hearing offensive language.

And then a:
"You fought well, but you... yeah."
I think it really depends on the enemy you're fighting. I get into a bit more serious/offensive RP with you SCRA, as I know you're not going to go running off reporting me. It enhances the RP. However, your average Joe in NY tried to get me sanctioned for calling him a greedy civilian.
