Get yourself a decent transport and armor up before going into the Omicrons.
I can tell you Galia is even a lot harder, got shot there once or twice by Gallic vhf's and bombers.
And that in a top class transport with au8, so... don't go trading there unless you know the risks.
The only thing i agree with you is that countermesure's never seem to work.
I really hate that, only 1 in 10 times they seem to do anything against cd's...
It don't seem to make a difference what kind of CM you use, they all suck :-(

The only thing i hate about NPCs is that some have the frigging hull of Gunboat. You can shoot and shoot at there hull, even razor it and nothing. What the hell is all that about? Especially Corsair and BHG NPCs and yes im talking about fighters.:crazy:

how to avoid the npcs:
1. shoot ONE shot at ONE npc (it must hit)
2. engine kill and thrrrrrrrust to max power
3. turn your heavy boat around and face the angry npcs
4. watch and laugh as they get confuzzled "he's coming towards us but he is running away... auuugh!"
and buy an armour upgrade

If NPC's are high level VHF's you'll have to fight your way out, also buy armour upgrade to last longer in battles. I've never lost against NPC's in a transport before don't bother trying to escape when they start dealing damage to your hull.
