Corsair gunboat is made like Titan. Slow, fat, powerfull. @Enforcer He can recover his shield only once, and not fully. And no, he can't fully recover his hull 4 times. You are mistaken. It takes him about 180 bots to recover from hull breach to full (if you have armor upgd). So, 2 times max. AoM - I don't know to discuss something like this in matter of RP. If you start, i will maybe be able to continue. RP wise i don't see smaller ships taking out bigger ships...when i say ships i think of the modern ships namesake. fighters and bombers are different as history has shown that they can cripple big ships. but it still took a few well aimed shots to do it. i don't think a small gunboat can take out a destroyer especially not a battleship...not saying it can't be done history also shows it can...saw a story on a small ship attacking a destroyer. it landed several good shots but it still lost in the end and the destroyer, although damaged, didn't lose. gunboats should have smaller lesser damage turrets and as the ship size increases so should the firepower Gunboat Balance - mjolnir - 12-05-2007 ' Wrote:Gunboats are too much on the both sides. Just simple. Take your legs and run. For example: If you are a lawful owning a GB go for patrol and kill pirate fighters. As soon as a D/Cr or BS is showing up, run and call for reinforcements and come back with a bigger brother. Always people doing ruin their keybord by letting drop their spittle, when been aware of getting a BS sign on their GB. it cannot not be, most of you are poor in imaginations. Gunboat Balance - RingoW - 12-05-2007 A discussion about numbers won't do it as well. The PVP junkies willl just switch to the class, which will become the toughest. Fight them and if they blow you, just ignore them. Sooner or later they will get bored if no one pays attention to them. Today me (lvl 22) was blown by a (lvl 51) player. As i have seen later, it was not intentionally. Just many traffic and fights and me between. Have i reported? No. Was i screwed? No. Why? Its just a game and a nice one. I will enjoy now to discover Discovery, indifferent how many times i will be blown up. Gunboats -are- capships and they need to be meat for the beast if they fight a cruiser or BS one on one. Assuming equivalent pilots... Two gunboats should be able to take down a cruiser. Two cruisers should be able to take down a BS. Three or Four gunboats should be able to take down a BS. One gunboat should kill a VHF 99% of the time. One gunboat should be able to kill a pair of VHF about half the time. One gunboat should be able to kill one bomber about half the time. One bomber should be able to kill a gunboat half the time. One bomber should be able to kill a cruiser half the time. Two bombers should be able to kill a BS most of the time. VHFs should be efficient at killing bombers.
