How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Howard10 - 11-03-2010 What's personal honour then? Honour seems to be one of those words that's bandied about far too often here. Same as 'scum'. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Not Espi - 11-04-2010 ' Wrote:*strikes a match* opens a container with some gasoline. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - DarthBindo - 11-04-2010 i think you are thinking of nobility. Similar concepts but its the little things. Honor-a formalized concept of personal pride. Winning brings honor. Succeeding in something brings honor. When people insult your honor, or you, its a matter of honor, that you smush them Honor has little to do with morals, and more to do with social customs. Nobility-The moral knighthood thing. Save teh babies. Kill teh dragon to save the villiage, then take no reward. Stuff liek taht. Apparently we are such good roleplayers we ARE our characters:) Love how you are trying to make me insult myself too. And now....for something completely different. ...............................................................CORSAIRCORSAIRCORSAIRCORSAIRCORSAIR. OMG GUYS ANOTHER CORSAIR THREAD? How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Grail - 11-04-2010 Mao is right here. You can "bla bla this, bla bla that"... But Mao is right. So, corsairs, if the corsair "great nation" is no longer starving, why do they keep raiding the lanes to ask for food and credits...for food ?!?? You can get all your legates, titans and whatever ships you want to try to "conquer", and try to create alliances with ever you think will get in the bandwagon...Even with the Outcasts, Mollies, Rogues to get your objectives... But, pardon my french, the sack of Bull**** is getting filled and will explode in your faces soon or later. 0,00000000002 cents How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - DarthBindo - 11-04-2010 If the zoners are so strong, why are they asking everybody and anybody to help them? Mao isnt right. Hell, as far as i think, no one is. Even me. Also, way to go, oorp hatred. Do you hate every corsair player? I really think this is worthy of a flip, to show the problem is not one-sided at all. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - McNeo - 11-04-2010 mao Wrote:You can't have a system just because you want. All parties involved in that must agree, and from what I can see, zoners are not agreeing to let the sairs in their backyard. I don't see how this is relevant to warfare. Nazi Germany never agreed to lose World War 2. The Corsair Council never agreed to lose against the Zoners and vice versa. Both sides playing to win is a key aspect of any real war. Nor is it a question of letting someone into someone's back yard. That said, if the Zoners wish to force the issue, they will find a permanent change to the way they have to play if they want to keep their pride intact. That is, you're going to have to fight for it. On the topic of food, you say this is a limitation of the Corsairs. The limitation of the Zoners is that they can't hope to defend their stations from a concerted attack from a next door neighbor many times larger than they are. Since one isn't an issue (invulnerability of Freeport 9), neither should the other be, unless you want to start voluntarily handing over your stations. Though of course, you're free to ignore the other factions shipping us what we need. Quote:Don't forget, Sairs, that you have wars at the other side of Sirius. BAF, Mollies, Hessians, OCs and other parties are at your doors while the zoners have no open conflicts. They're more than able to defend Theta and any other system where they're present from your raids. You can't assemble a fleet to take them out because if you could, you could also conquer Rheinland and Hessians would be long gone. No, because Rheinland are a house and Zoners are <2000 people aboard a station in Omicron Theta. BAF are fighting a defensive war, as are the Mollys. Hessians and Corsairs in Omega 5 are locked together and so are the Corsairs and OCs in Eta. They go from being defensive and locked to being at our doors? Really? I wonder if Kusari or Liberty are at the doors of the Outcasts? That said, all this talk about strategy is irrelevant, since your own words say something about this not being a strategy game. Quote:Your superiority in PvP fights won't win you the system or the bases in it because, guess what! All zoners have escape pods. So do we and every other faction, I guess, so the wars around Sirius will go on forever. Which is kinda what we planned, since obviously anything less wont be convincing. Quote:By the way, corsairs are and will always be starving, even with zoner or any other helper. That's a characteristic of the NPC faction. You can't change it... yet. If you change that, you also loose the reason of piracy and you can become a lawful house of sirius and that won't happen except if Igiss comes in and says it. I do believe there is a different topic to do with how much or how little official factions should be able to change their NPC faction. Lets wait and see how this pans out. If it's in favour of restricting or preventing official factions from modifying their parent faction, I do believe the Zoners will undergo significant change aswell. |
