Where are all the Mollies? - Wellingtons - 12-03-2010 Well I'm around the most days so sure if it increases the RP of Dublin sign me up Where are all the Mollies? - Coin - 12-03-2010 ' Wrote:Well I'm around the most days so sure if it increases the RP of Dublin sign me up well lad, we've press-ganged ya.... how's the noggin? Where are all the Mollies? - Dissolved.Girl - 12-04-2010 Quote:Independence for Dublin is currently on hold for the duration of the war with Kusari. - Alright so let's start. Quote:Independence for Dublin is currently on hold for the duration of the war with Kusari. - Since our great cooperations against the intruders known as Corsairs / Indians Scalpies Babies / Jarek KNF Big baby, The Essex Bs is usefull, yes, not for us it's clear, but It's a great cover for the miners and squaddies. - In Practice : This Essex is a really bad thing for mollies because we have nowhere to run if we are outnumbered. Because as we all know the main war zone is around the gold field top right of the map far from the IMG Hoods and our base. Quote:But what if the BAF could move the Essex out of dublin, and deploy it where it would be of more use? In return, the Molly destroyer could take its place, and start protecting Dublin. If we start the process of discussion, we might get the ships moved in time for '86. - New idea : In future, we could change the status of the mollies, Semi-lawfuls instead of unlawfuls. .... Why ? Our cooperations with squaddies will give us a new way to struggle with efficacy against Ugly Corsairs and Scalpies Babies and others independant pirates. So yes in this case we can ask to move out from Dublin The Essex Bs. And we could provide substitute it by a real molly checkpoint, a sort of station plus one or two cruiser guard. If we become Semi-lawfuls our reputations will change with bretonians. Mollies could also become richer and more powerful too, a new cooperation means a new way to earn money on the market.... Why not ? After that, about taxing miners, well sorry... about selling a permit for BMM miners and independant Miners, if we have to tax them for a better protection we should do it fairly. Remember that we don't act like pirates, but we sell permit, so we have to deal with them fairly! I think that 2 or 3 milions credits for 24 hours protection is really correct. If we tax too much Miners won't accept the deal, and Squaddies won't allow us to do it.... Quote:0.0 Be excellent to one another. Consider the people around you. Keep fair play in mind. It's a game and nothing is gained, or lost, save the experience. Credits can be re-earned. Ammunition replenished. If you become infuriated step away. If you make a mistake apologize. If you wish to remain in system after you die, or after someone has moved away, simply ask. .... So, let's take a simple example : A miner earn 28.500.000 milions credits in one run to New York. If he has a lucky day, he buys our permit (let's say 2 milions) and earn so 26.500.000. Alright it's a good day. Now it's a really bad day for the Miner, he buys our permit : - 2, he meets pirates in magellan : - 2 if they are cool - 5 if not, he meets pirates in california : - 2 or - 5 again, and when he jumps in New York he meets at the gate another pirate : so again - 2 or - 5. We have to think about it too. To keep it fair and cleverly too, we have to create a thread for the Miners who buy the permit. Visible for everyone, and then the Miner is not taxed each hour.;) - What about tech exchange between mollies and squaddies too ?:POf course, not in one day, but step by step. Where are all the Mollies? - Coin - 12-08-2010 at the moment, we're running a skype channel devoted exclusively to who has bought a license, to prevent double taxing and to make sure that peeps like the hawaii dont try the 'i paid the other bloke' routine. Tech is not down to the Garda to distribute. The police do not get involved in arms deals. The mining license has nothing to do with piracy. its is merely a work visa. There is nothing stopping pirates taxing the miner on every single trade lane between dublin and detroit. the contractual employment of mercenary escorts is the responsibility of the miner; we do not take into account such things, as this is not the nanny state. so, yeah, if he has a bad day, he could hire someone like VPS to take care of him. Where are all the Mollies? - Tony - 12-09-2010 Well I am not a Molly but I respect good RP'ing Molly's of Dublin. In Dublin I have many dealings with miners of all kinds and pirates of all kinds. Molly's excel (from my encounters) have truly been looking out for the well being of Dublin and it's inhabitance. The protection from Molly's some what honors me. Yes it may cost a few credits. It's for a good cause and ultimately a safer more productive Dublin. So I'd like to say, thank you Molly's, also I'd be happy to donate what I can to help with any Molly related cause. However it'd be an OOC donation until the faction is deemed semi lawful at least. Also something that crossed my mind any I'd like to put out there is, Molly Miners. I'd love to be servicing Molly miners in .86 if made semi legal as Universal Shipper. (sorry if I'm intruding) Cheers, T Man Where are all the Mollies? - hribek - 12-09-2010 Bear in mind that a faction which has accomplished all its goals ultimately loses its raison d'être. This (truce with Bretonia lawfuls) may also be the root cause of currently low activity levels. Tman, a donation would be very cool. free money? yus plox! also, skype me over the weekend for a chat about a molly miner clan. Miner id does not work with molly rep though  ' Wrote:Bear in mind that a faction which has accomplished all its goals ultimately loses its raison d'être. agreed. we're not trying to go for any kind of liberation. we're just saying to the miners 'hey, this is dublin, we have a truce with baf, so we're collecting money for work permits. taxes from pirates are not our concern - hire escorts. 1mill is not a huge amount of money, when two people can make 50m an hour, so its more of me trying to get some RP in dublin, rather than a bunch of gankers whose RP has absolutely nothing to do with dublin treating miners as cashcows, and not respecting the place that they are in. ' Wrote:Does this channel also include the indies ? hmmm.. hadnt thought about that one yet. technically, the Garda ARE indies, but we (when i get around to writing something) say that we get our authority from the Molly council - so we're happy to follow the official molly factions (who srsly need to log in once in a while, or i'll be pushing for their officialness being revoked so i can claim it) generally, in game, I make a group with all the indies. I ask the miners if their work permit is up-to-date. if their work permit IS up to date (i.e. they cough up a mill) i ask the indies in system to leave them alone. I can't force them too, and of course, any miner that has a potty mouth or a bad attitude towards the Garda i kinda look the other way when they're suffering from 'involuntary donations'. however, skype me, and we can talk about the benefits of joining. Where are all the Mollies? - Hone - 12-09-2010 this is no different from whats happening already, mollys taxing miners, except the "garda" taxes less and doesnt protect, whereas I tax more and do, Where are all the Mollies? - Coin - 12-10-2010 ' Wrote:this is no different from whats happening already, mollys taxing miners, except the "garda" taxes less and doesnt protect, Thats not to say that we don't have characters that don't protect miners, its just that we can't really do it on [Garda] chars. Edit: this thread 'ere the fee is only a sign of support for a Molly Council. 1mil represents 1% of the gross income of a miner in an hour. If the Garda were to jump into the sandbox halfway through play and say 'ok, these are the new rules' the response would be quite rightly 'NO U'. If the Garda were to start protecting the miners for a mil, it would put the indies out of business. If the garda started protecting the miners from sairs/injuns/whtever, then the Garda would be out and out targets for anything that moved. I've been in that situation before as a WT on FLU. do not want. of course, we'll jump in and assist wherever needed, but we fly VHF's and LF's - not much use against corsair cruisers. When the roster swells a bit, then we'll be able to defend against the increased hostilities that this protection would bring. moreover, i'm a firm believer that my rp should not restrict your rp anymore than yours restricts mine. I can't make a faction up, and then start saying to the players already in dublin, 'No, don't tax him, he's already paid' cos that would mean that the Garda would end up CREATING a civil war in dublin. I see the Molly IFF/Id'd char as a defender of dublin, and he collects his payments from those he defends on his shift. this means that the Garda and molly 'pirates/defenders' can co-exist, without the garda stepping in and making everyone either join the garda or gtfo. as you rightly say, there is enough chaos in Dublin, and all im trying to do is make a little normality. Ive noticed that when a Garda player is on, the sabre-rattling by the indy BAF is greatly diminished, and the miners are far less bolshy. |
