Interesting RP, check.
Easiest to RP and run from a fight in Kusari, check.
Non-conflict with Benitez or CR, a complicated check.
If you're up for a terrorist faction, give the Golden Chrysanthemums a look.
edit: Oh and you should join a faction because you want to explore their roleplay, flipping a coin will just get you bored.

To be really honest with the OP, my best RP has been done with keepers (~5 hours long), everything else of worthy was forum RP.
Had some good ones on my GRN but always ended up in PVP.

Colonial Republic (aka =CR=)
I know, we have not the best reputation, and everyone thinks that we are totally PvP whores. However, lately, more and more RP compatabilities are oppened in this faction. Research RP is very fluentall in faction, however, a bit more of "researchers" are needed.
Lately, a new RP-only branch of CR is under development. It's CMF (Colonial Marine Forces), which is created only for purposes of Forum RP. And believe me, more active RPers are needed for this project.

If you want to be part of some top notch trading RP, if you suck at PvP or your just sick of it. Then take a look at this lot.
If your looking for a decent military their usually easy enough to find. The BAFers are usually a good lot to fly with, your gaurunteed to have an eventful day. Liberty Navy is non-stop and the Rheinland bunch tend to make sure their always busy.
As for pirates, you can't beat the Benitez if you wanna join a Corsair official. The Outcasts always have rising and falling factions so it's usually russian roulette if you catch one thats worth a damn. Other than that the Colonial Remnant is always good fun, although they've gone in other directions as of late and things are changing up there, yet not changing at all.
Gallia is fun if you can stand the lonliness. The council is good, so is the union corse, but its just a matter of finding things to do til .86 arrives.
