You mean you actually tried what I could only think of trying?You set your video settings to minimum so that there's nothing on the background but pure black and then selected the ship in Photoshop with Magic Wand Tool?:P
Yeah,sounds easy if you actually have one of those big OC things.

Nope, modded my FL game (on my own server) to make it entirely white instead of black, and then turned my background details to 0. Looks much better.

Yes, except with a black background, using the magic wand tool sometimes cuts off parts of the ship. Using white just seems to work better.

EDIT:Good idea would be to use a color that's certainly anything but used on the ship,for background.
Example: blue-ish ship,use pink BG:D
