The problem is that you want to make the pool deeper and every swimmer has a different idea of how to do it. Some of them won't like the new pool, some will feel butthurt that their pool design was ignored, and might go find a new pool.
Too much trouble than its worth really. What really needs to happen is .86 needs to be released already.

I'd love it if half of it could be released to give people something to do, instead of pissing each other off. Then the other half can be released in time, no problem.

I've been saying that for a while now. Release smaller updates that at least move the plot a little.
The problem is more that Disco has become stale. It's always been bland.

Main idea is to give the swimmers a better idea on how to swim.
Like in "Wing Commander" (that other game made by chris robberts) you were this navy guy with an idea what to do, cause someone told you to do what you have to do.
Kinda like Juni told Trent everything he had to do.
Give a Trent (a "you") and a Juni (a mistress that tells you what to do) in the major faction like Navy and Order and so on.

Except Valve's main purpose is to make money, and I really, really don't think you can compare what they are doing, with updating a little old Freelancer mod.
