I'm not reading what you wrote, because of your name. Are ships too tough? - DarthBindo - 04-29-2011 ' Wrote:quoted for truth. Are ships too tough? - Disco - 04-29-2011 Do you really have to have a problem with everything that isn't realistic. It's a computer game for goodness sake. It's a computer game for goodness sake. When it causes fights to last three hours? Yeah, we have a problem with it. Are ships too tough? - Disco - 04-29-2011 Yes, because fights totally take three hours. Are ships too tough? - Toaster - 04-29-2011 ^ They do. Yeah, increasing the speed of fighter weapons should solve the problem. And light fighters are still maneuverable enough to dodge. Considering their size as well. Are ships too tough? - Hone - 04-30-2011 I agree that upping weapon speeds would be good for the game, but thats not what this thread is about. It's about the insane toughness of all ships, and like I said, if we for some reason need them to be this tough, why not make the hull weaker, but up the shield and shield batteries. They can be as tough as we need and still make sense. If you shoot a motionless Sabre with any VHF, it's hull (and shield) deplete extremely quickly. Fights take so long because the overwhelming majority of projectiles miss, which has led to buff fighter weapon stats to compensate, which then allows said fighters to utterly rape larger targets as they miss less. I can see the arguments saying "Well a fighter shouldn't be able to survive a nuclear explosion!" and counter that by saying, getting insta killed by a flukey mine just isn't fun. Are ships too tough? - Geeky - 04-30-2011 Just FYI, nuclear explosions in space actually aren't very hazardous to ships, but rather to pilots. What kills on the ground is the heat, and the intense shockwave, however in space, it's just radiation. It wouldn't be as hazardous in space as it is on the ground, since we have HEAVY radiation shielding on our ships. (proven because you can fly through a neutron star system without beeing boiled alive) Are ships too tough? - Dashiell - 04-30-2011 less botts and batts? |
