Zoner No Fire Zones Update - Camtheman - 05-14-2011 I will have to say I will hold off on making Freeport 11's NFZ abide by this... law? Ill watch the effects, see if they work for you. No firing at all. Good to hear. Now which Freeports will be general NFZ and which Freeports will change? Looking forward to Zoners clear that up in the process of becomming aware of the consequences implied. "Free"ports are not free anymore cause any nonfaction Pirate clan can takeover the area and rule it by informaly allying with that zoner base (nonattack agreement).Except you're missing the fact that previously, the zoner NFZ also protected unlawfuls from lawfuls. This is no longer the case. Zoner No Fire Zones Update - Daedric - 05-14-2011 ' Wrote:So zoners become some selfmade Faction like any other. "Free"ports are not free anymore cause any nonfaction Pirate clan can takeover the area and rule it by informaly allying with that zoner base (nonattack agreement). Freeports are and always will remain free. That is, anyone is free to use them so long as they respect Zoner law. Zoner law now merely means you don't shoot us. I guess ignoring the fact that lawful factions have just as much right within a NFZ as unlawful factions do is part of trying to prove your point; because if you don't ignore it your point is moot. Zoner No Fire Zones Update - Daedric - 05-14-2011 ' Wrote:Being new to the server and my characters being pretty much rookie pilots, I would agree on keeping Bethlehem station in PA as a complete NFZ. There's too many low level characters there for there to be a free for all. Today in fact, we had a pilot with a Corsair ID and a Deep Space Explorer pirating in PA, even those civilian pilots under level 30. Even though that pilot may have been high on cardamine, and the level of violence in PA is relatively low, as it is the system for starting pilots, I think a full NFZ should remain in place. You do forget that a NFZ isn't enforced by the server administrators. It won't stop pirates who want to shoot someone inside of it from doing so. It will in fact remain a free for all. Jeremy will just have to create a strong case for FR5 so the official factions have a reason to file it for him. Zoner No Fire Zones Update - Daedric - 05-14-2011 ' Wrote:Good to hear. Now which Freeports will be general NFZ and which Freeports will change? All Freeports operate under the new laws. The only ones that retain the old ways are Beth and Freeport 11, however Freeport 11 has a limited NFZ from what I recall Cam telling me. The thread I created is there for the person role playing the administrator of each Freeport to post his/her stations local policy. Cam, Jeremy - please get your posts up so people are aware. As for the consequences of breaching a NFZ, they are exactly the same as they were before. You can also note that I am not speaking for just me or just OSI on this matter. The suggested NFZ change was suggested by Lou, leader of the Omicroners, and supported by both OSI and the TAZ. I am merely the one who posted them. If I say something in which TAZ or the Omicroners disagree with they will post saying so, but I don't take steps like changing the NFZs without speaking with all of them first, since I alone do not have that ability. But I still will have the old NFZ policy for Bethlehem, at least until Synth Foods kicks me out and then I gotta find a new spot.
