A question for the Admins - Hone - 06-10-2011

OK so Dab, what counts as being "directly involved" I was in a fight with a guy, he called in a buddy, as soon as the buddy came on scanners I cruised off, they guy i was fighting didnt see me dock, but the buddy did, was he involved in the fight? He never got in range.

Im sorry to be asking so many questions, but what iv recently ben told has confused me, as I always took it that shooting your shields below half was when youd started fighting (or shooting you when your shields were below half).

The buddy that showed up was there to kill you. You fled before he could shoot at you, you fled from him. Which means he was part of the fight even though he didn't have a chance to fire at you yet. If he wasn't part of the fight, you wouldn't have fled when he appeared.

You docked in front of a person who was on the position's team and was part of the encounter. You're dead.

He wasnt in the fight. He was in an *interaction*

Stop looking to make the rules work to your advantage.

yeah

Listen to Dab, Zelot and Deadric. Plus, if said "buddy" was in an "interactions" with you (or related to your situation) or was ordered to do something about you by your enemy that means that he was respecting 5.2 and thus you were his prey as he was chasing you from afar.

I have the feeling that you slightly twist facts and stories a bit to get the answers you want...

It's not asking too much to request further clarification from someone who actually can speak for the server rules. An admin. It's a complicated matter, and clearly he wants to understand it fully so nothing against the rules happens in the future. Telling him to shut up and use the search function is just ignorant. It's an isolated case, a specific situation.

A question for the Admins - kingvaillant - 06-12-2011

Actually Hexx, I am a player as well. Being an admin does not mean that I am the best source of reference in the world. Players, like vets, know the rules well enough to explain them. Admins can't rush to answer every topic asking questions regarding rules... We have many other tasks to do after all.

Unless you discover a way to clone me... but I don't think you want to do this... for your mental sanity.

[color=#FFFFFF]As I said if you are that afraid of a possible sanction just play it safe and log out for 4 hours, go out have a pint come back and do whatever. That is unless you are looking for loopholes that allow you to write sanction-report easier which is pretty low

' Wrote:As for you Dane, Id be interested to know if you agree my first post summed it up accuratly?

' Wrote:Yeah, it kinda does. Pretty bare bones, but yeah - i just added clarification.

Sir your unfounded words insult my honour.

srsly, this is getting complicated, why not just stick to the easy;

"if they shoot your shield below half, or shoot you when your shield is below half, they are in a fight with you"

Otherwise you get risiculous situations e.g. like darthbindo said - a pirate who runs away when the police come might as well just fight, or someone in a LF challenges a dread to a fight, and the dread cant dock till the LF goes away, as it spins around and around evading the fire.
