Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - Kambei - 02-18-2008 why those feadback requests arent in flood section on somewhere else but in SERVER section? Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - gronath - 02-19-2008 Finally my cue, Vince. Now, if you'll be so kind as to listen to my story... Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - Zapp - 02-20-2008 Well I like it. :) Good work, whoever-you-are. Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - gronath - 02-20-2008 Both mine and Vince's stories are much based on emotions. For us ghosts, the very thing that robbed us of our transition were the strong feelings that we weren't able to let go. We wanted to transmit that not only in our stories, but in our in game role play. We started trying to transmit some way our emotions to the other characters. Since the only way we could really do it is through the channels, we decided to mark those lines so maybe people would perhaps make something out of them. Today I wrote about Renato's death. He would certainly feel angry whenever anything or anyone reminded him of that experience. At first, we wanted to try and communicate with the other players only through these emotions. It didn't work out. It was confusing. Then, since at a certain point of our planning we decided they wouldn't be able to speak through vocalization, we came up with telepathy. We are not trying to copy the Keepers' telepathy. Our characters were human and are able to articulate thoughts in the very same pattern humans do. So whenever we communicate in that manner, we will do so through clear sentences. We are just not going to do that so often, since from our RP, this telepathy comes with a great strain to us. We wanted too to really make our appearances as ghostly as possible. For that effect, apart from the emotions and the telepathy, we tried to introduce strange sounds. Sounds that created an atmosphere of a haunted place, screamings and the sort. Of course, this is all very hard to accomplish with the limitations the game has, but we will try our best to accomplish it because to us at least, this was a nice idea and we are putting our hearts to it. Well, as for the emotions and for the telepathy, we managed to transmit that through text. As for the sounds, I wasn't totally satisfied, so I thought I'd actually post the sounds I've imagined so anyone willing to play with us can have a very distinct idea of what we are trying to transmit in game. I think this will only add to the feel we are trying to transmit, to our RP, and to everyone interested in playing with us. Our more recognized line so far is the *static* one. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to come up with a sound that fully describes what that is, but I'm still working on it. Think of that as a radio static with an eerie atmosphere to it. Something that strikes you as a very cold and very distant emotion. Another one that I particularly like (since I had it clear in my mind) is: *long breathing* (aif sound file [quicktime]) or a interesting variation of the same *prolonged breathing* (aif sound file [quicktime]) even though that's not all, maybe it can start giving anyone interested the general feel of not only those lines, but of the rest of them as well. What propels our ships are our own will to go to and fro, so I thought they could have a very distinct and appropriate sound to them as well. If we simply pass by someone, this (wav sound file) is what they'll hear. Me and Vince made a pact when we started those characters. We aren't going to communicate OOC in system chat in any circumstances. We understand that it would greatly hurt our RP, which is already very difficult to maintain in some scenarios. At first I was decided to keep that commitment even in PMs, but since most people weren't ready to interact with us, that became impossible. I apologize for any misunderstandings our RP experience (because that's what this is) has caused to the other players so far and I hope that this will come as less of a problem from now on. That's why too we decided to put this feedback thread in the server section, rather than in the flood section, because we wanted to solve these issues. Finally, I hope some of you are enjoying our encounters and our story (there's a new post by the way). I beg that you don't mock our RP in game. If you don't agree with it, bring it to the forums or simply don't play with us, but don't contact us in game with anything else than IC stuff. This RP is hard enough when we don't have to put up with that sort of thing. Thank you all very much. Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - Dopamino - 02-21-2008 Hmm, how is it that you are able to make different noises than everyone else? I like the story, but you're confusing me:) Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - Jihadjoe - 02-21-2008 ' Wrote:Hmm, how is it that you are able to make different noises than everyone else? They won't actually make these sounds in game... thats just silly. Correct me if I'm wrong but the sounds you have posted here are sounds we should endeavor to implant onto the game in our minds when we see you guys passing by. And... I really like this, as in I REALLY REALLY like this. I know who the first ghost is, but the identity of the second is as yet a mystery to me. But I want to thank both of you for this... Lots of very important stuff about how strong emotion can overcome almost anything and how if one feels strongly enough about something then it IS achievable. Its both sad and in a way hopeful. Despite the fact that these poor lost souls are so tormented by their losses and betrayals, it gives rise to the hope that if a hatred this strong can do so much surely a more positive emotion can be equally powerful. Thank you both. Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - gronath - 02-21-2008 ' Wrote:They won't actually make these sounds in game... thats just silly. There's no way we can actually use those sounds inside the game. The purpose is to let you know what we mean when we write things in game like: *static*, *long breathing*, *screams of the wretched*; and more fully immerse on this RP. Those are supposed to be imagination aids for anyone interested in this story. The whole idea is that, even though we are playing a space shooter video game, we are too stretching it to an RPG. A lot of us are here to play with our imaginations. Those sound are intended to provide the means for you to enhance that creative experience while giving you the first steps towards our vision of this story. That way, instead of just reading a silly *static* line, you'll actually recall the sound behind that and hopefully imagine your own version of a "ghostly static sound". Besides that, thank you both, we appreciate the feedback. Feedback on 'Fantasmas de la Nube Siniestra' RP - Guest - 02-26-2008 A great story and very good in terms of RPing on the server, best I've seen personally to say the least I'm intrigued to follow the story to the end.
