The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - Decktare - 12-14-2011 Gallic Unlawfuls Sorry, wrong phrase. The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - varoshanin - 12-14-2011 This is very interesting story. Nice job Zelot, really... While the Yamaguchi will be hiding in the nebulas, the Nagasaki will be quite overtly holding position by Stokes, basically serving as a frontal base for operations into Tau31. Also, on your ZoI map you have Tau42 (KSP guard system) included but you have no path towards it. I'm assuming that was an oversight. The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - xiphos - 12-14-2011 ' Wrote:A FYI. Tau 42 is the Farmers Alliance Guard System. But nonetheless i am curious about Tau 45... The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - JIVA - 12-14-2011 there are two concerns that have already been mentioned: - the ZoI: concepts of a ZoI are and have always been flawed. - for some factions they describe where they can go and opererate without "getting in trouble with the rules" for others they describe a literal "zone of interest" - which can be extended if interest includes more. what i d like to see is a more "refined" faction description. something like this is where we operate, this is were we would NEVER go beyond ( like most of kusari, cause thats the point of it - not to go there - so you don t loose your face/honor ) - and that is where we may go, if a critical situation may arise. - the alliances i have never been too comfortable with the entire "now that we face a stronger common enemy, we have to work together". for years ... kusari forces have killed thousands if not millions of bretonians - and vice versa. now that the french show up, they work together. so far so good - although they didn t even manage it against the nomads. ( but that might be cause they were not aware of the threat ) i would however like to address that - in contrast to rheinland, where ... in the war vs. liberty .. the nationalistic unlawfuls would fight liberty alongside with the lawful forces - the bretonian unlawfuls have not done so ( which only kind of includes the gaians, cause the mollys are somewhat special in that regard ) gaians have always been hostile to bretonia and bretonians interest - cause bretonia has never ceased to pursuit their ambitions with planets like gaia and carysle ( of whatever the planets name was in newcastle ) there i agree with what was said before.... - either ally yourself with the lawfuls ... OR the unlawfuls - cause - from what i know.... gaians will keep fighting bretonians in 4.86 ( won t they? ) *edit: but if the NLH have agreed to such a "green" state - it is OK, i guess personally - i think that an alliance with the gaians would be most probable .... but that doesn t help the exiles much. gaians have no real shipyard etc. . there has been a mutual friendship well before the events. - so from a RP pov, i d say - the exiles NEED bretonia, but that would kinda ruin their friendship with the gaians. there is one more thing: - you listed the ships and equipment you re going to use. - is that an honest list? - or will that change according to the diplomacies you forge .... if that is the case - you may also list ships and equipment that you "may" use - and i m not sure about the maintenance of such a fleet. - do the bretonians allow maintaining the fleet? ( provided one needs a fully fletched shipyard to do so.... ) in general - the idea is good. - but the story has some holes ( which we discussed on the dev skype channel already ) - i do especially have some trouble comprehending the rather flawless transition from one emperor to a new one - from samura to kishiro - without all of kusari ( which was - according to the lore - vertically run through by those cooperations ) - i d expect much MUCH more turmoil. especially - those forces that are now left behind in kusari - which are loyal to the new goverment - would consider the exiles to be a threat. - possibly even hunt them down. i m not sure what future the exiles actually do have. - it reminds me of what the apocalypse had to endure. ( for those that don t remember - a renegade BHG core wing ) - admins made it so that their ships - due to a lack of maintenance - would be "destroyed - permanently" when being destroyed *that only happened in the very end, when they were pushed to deploy in omicron kappa. the principle is similar though. - a fleet with no home - and no chance to come back. edit: all in all - i think the faction is quite interesting. - but i also think that it should be a lot more complex and complicated than it is presented here. the conflict of honor, the denial of going home, the uprising of a new emperor at home, an invasion of a superior foe, the lack of infrastructure and resources, the warrior code. all that is a GREAT pre-requisite for roleplay - and it would be very sad when it all came down to just another pvp / combat orientated faction. ( no, you haven t written that down ) - i d like to see the interconnectiveness of the political and social interdependencies displayed. the "shame" of allying with a former enemy, the shame of having been replaced by an uprising emperor, - the fall of grace from warriors to exiles. the faction is not fighting for survival - that is easy. the faction is fighting for re-gaining their honor - ... but how can that be reflected in their RP. The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - West - 12-14-2011 ' Wrote:- the ZoI:Tau 29, 23, 44 and especially 42 will play vital role in upcoming role play of ronins. Tau 45 might be oversight... since it has no connections with rest of tau claster, same goes for 65 and 63... they are just in tau claster... but I doubt we will ever use them. Quote:- the alliancesWell Gaians always were friendly with kusari. Bretonia were hunting gaians, we were hunting bretonia... now GRN crushed them... and we are fighting GRN, do not see a problem with them as friendly/allies... Alliance does not meen that we will help them fight with bretonians... nope, probably only exchange of information and usage of bases when noone see it. Quote:there is one more thing:I'm strongly against any other ships except KNF, but since renzu ships are avaliable for all... and kusari made... you might see us using HF(since knf don't have one), LF if someone got bored from wyrm and etc. List of possible ships... no idea, but part of our RP is to stay only with kusari ship. maintenance of fleet? I'm sure all fighters/bombers and even GBs can be maintained on BSs if there is enough resources, as for caps.... about what maintenance are you talking about? they are holding positions... hiding in asteroids.. no "clear" battle engagements. Not sure if brets allowing us to do that "no idea what you talking about" but it's in their best interest. Quote:all that is a GREAT pre-requisite for roleplay - and it would be very sad when it all came down to just another pvp / combat orientated faction. I doubt that you will see alot of "shame" onforum... but it will be ingame for sure. Shame/hatred/other stuff. Quote:especially - those forces that are now left behind in kusari - which are loyal to the new goverment - would consider the exiles to be a threat. - possibly even hunt them down.I really like this one... how can they hunt them down.. if they do not meet them? + from the story... soldiers were eager to return and rescue all those who were trapped. The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - AndrzejB - 12-14-2011 @OP: Gaians. They may don't like being neutral with Bretonia lawfuls. Because, let's face it, Kusarian hostility toward Bretonia seems to be main visible reason for the friendship that had existed before, from the Gaians perspective. On a related note: what is the Gaians stance toward new Kusarian government? Neutral-friendly? This + neutral toward Gallia = does it make any sense? Why would the Brets not treat the Kusari Exiles/Ronin like they, inRPly, may deserve? They consist of guys most responsible for the war while the current (.86-current) Kusarian government signed a peace treaty. One might speculate whether Bretonia would support them to such extent (storyline does not make it precise). I'd rather expect some of the Ronin/Kusari Exiles officers arrested for war crimes (storyline-wise Bretonia has enough pilots to man their craft - see the Space Volunteer Corps thing flying civilian fighters). Okay, every enemy of my enemy is a Mother Theresa, but let's not overestimate it. Bretonia signing an armstice with Kusari while openly supporting a group hostile to the Kusarian government - it rather calls for silent, unofficial support. So don't get caught working with Bretonia, too. In Newcastle there are also Mollys and Outcasts. How do you expect them to react to a foreign fleet lurking in the system? It would make sense for the Ronin not be exiles but guerilla fighters. Operating from Hogosha and Farmers' bases in Kusari (maybe even Samura facilities, when nobody can see it). If they have to be in Bretonia (storyline...), make them a guerilla group, snubcraft only, and it will make sense. And create a nice, tense situation. Edit: Ninja'd. Like Kusari in .86. Edit2: It would be fun to watch the Ronin to gradually employ more and more civilian craft and guns. :-) The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - Drider - 12-14-2011 Zelot - one question. People are giving you certain feedback - are you going to listen to them? Because if you dont, well.. any complaining or arguing is just pointless. The Kusari Exiles (4.86) - AeternusDoleo - 12-14-2011 Yeh. Tau 45 really needs a rename. It's not even part of the Tau borderworlds cluster. I'mma raise a dev ticket on that methinks... |
