In space there is no friction. true.
But the weapon design does not go with the ship design... Thats what he means...

imho.
balistic weapons should be removed and replaced with advanced/enhanced beam-energy weapons.
Honestly, chain guns? We're talking about 19th - 21st century stuff here.
C'mon....let's think advancement into the future.
(WAIT......no!....dont throw that beer can at me!)

Chain Guns - Piros MK II - 03-07-2006

I'd like a different name, and yes, a sexier design. Those things look terrible.

Chain Guns - Igiss - 03-07-2006

Chainguns will have design like one of existing guns (you'll know when you'll see), and name remains the same. They still fire particles, not bullets, so I see no problem in calling them chainguns. The name is for refire rate.

Chain Guns - Retread - 03-07-2006

I think somewhere in the equipment files there are some weapons that are called "vulcan cannon"....or something like that. As for chainguns, Im not so sure....probably is.
Anyhow, the vulcan outfires the chaingun by at least twice the rate...upwards to around 3600 rpms.

Chain Guns - Igiss - 03-07-2006

I've made a search for low refire rates, and except for new Discovery weapons there are no guns or turrets with refire_delay = 0.0****. All original refire rates start at refire_delay = 0.12.

That's a shame, I quite like the chain gun models.
:(

Chain Guns - Igiss - 03-08-2006

Maybe we should start a poll about chaingun models? I really feel confused, as most people here said that they hate chainguns... before I posted that the previous model will be removed ;)

Chain Guns - marauder - 03-08-2006

The chaingun turrets look fine to me, it's the chaingun guns that look strange. Well I think so anyhow.

I agree with this,
The chainguns are perfact but only the looks could be better.
