I'm in Rheinland a lot. I don't get out much. Any other character of mine working out of Rheinalnd wouldnt be part of that group. I just presumed the hate rage towards my [FL]- guys was well known.
Also there tends to be a great need for target control. There has to be very finite areas where my characters can fire on anyone. Maybe this is why RP is so difficult to find as Sparrow has suggested. I'm also wary of Metagaming. I find it difficult to invite a Player of the Corsairs have a character that can help me when they may be put into a situation to fire on a "friend," and cause oorp rages.
Also this game has waves like an analog signal. Highs and lows. In 2-3 months we'll have RP abound. Will it be good? Don't know.
I think it's been said before its all about timing and where you are in the game.
I helped a guy with his ship repping and sending him a few million. He said he was new, do i believe him? Doesn't matter. He was willing to work with me and I with him and it turned out pretty well. I say the best RP is found when a lower ranked player rps with a Higher one. One leads and the other follows and even helps the Vet learn a thing or two as well.

I don't play to much anymore myself - but when I do log on I can very easily find people to interact and role play with. Unless I try late at night my time. Server is normally dead then. There really isn't a lack of role play - just a lack of role play that you like.

Just last night my ALG transport had a great RP encounter with XA in Colorado. We both chatted, had fun, and moved on. People need to remember RP takes 2.
Also again with the Discovery is diing crap. It has more players right now then ever. This is why 225 limit now, when in past was 200/150/100 .

If you think RP has extinct after a few month from now, go look for it in places you thought I wouldn't exist.
RP with players, which you thought are lolwuts, do it more often, at some point you will find a good interaction maybe (and you get the lols to RP and improve their skills as well).
You are getting pirated by a ''2milrdai'' ? At least try to RP (and the right way to do it), of course not on maximum level - so the newbie can understand it - but a few more words (Standart sentences: Why are you doing this ? Who are you ? What do you need the cash/cargo for? etc).
I know both of the above worked for me in Liberty back in the day, and some of those lolwuts (along with myself) eventually got decent RP skills on the way.

Personally I have no enough free time to play novadays, so I cant realise the current situation on the server. I've tried to start some roleplay stories, ingame and forum but most of them died, due of disinterest. Its a MMORP game, so as others said before, roleplay needs 2 or more peolple.
Altough I have to say, there are a lot of groups who do it well. There is the AGS for example. We have had a a lot of fun with those guys, and there are more factions, groups, ideas.
I spend most of my time on the server alone while looking for others to roleplay because thats always new and not similar experience.
As a suggestion, dont give up and if you need roleplay, just do it. I'm well sure there will be others to join, since there are a lot of people who playing here for the roleplay and not just for pew pew.
