Real (less or more) scaled planets - r3vange - 06-10-2012 [color=#FFFFFF]In my dreams FL has the scale of Orbiter, being at 500k above the surface and the planet still fills 3/4 of your screen looking at the horizon... as it should be really Also saying orbiter can't be arsed looking for the proper thread, so do you know if anyone ever imported FL models in it? Real (less or more) scaled planets - Nikita - 06-10-2012 ' Wrote:Ok simple. Rescale all the planets, all the systems and then admit them. Until then? NO! Devs have more important issues to work on. Like things that make game fun, and balanced, and not more realistic.I like realistic game, and i want it. I've heard of some kind of multiplayer, though it was ages ago when I laust played it. But I wonder how could that be if we move disco on the Orbiter's platform. I doubt most of the people could ever proceed a successfull lift off or base docking...so whole Disco universe would be even smaller than ones planteary space there. Real (less or more) scaled planets - Swallow - 06-11-2012 I barely remember how to with models there, but I suppose that my hands does, so It would not take much time for converting them. It was so damn ago, that I wonder how I managed to make my Arou system. Real (less or more) scaled planets - ryoken - 06-11-2012 ' Wrote:I like realistic game, and i want it. Then go ahead and model it. Devs already said in 2 other posts that they will not. Shame no one searches before making topics. Shame you are not in theme:) I have made an experiment - enlarged planets. I`ve made some screens and shared them with you to see your reaction. I have not asked development team to imply any of those, I just wanted to discuss what I`ve made. RE: Real (less or more) scaled planets - Swallow - 05-14-2014 - Dig the mud, break the gravestone and rise before me, my thread! Now, as I have some ideas regarding the modmaking, I've brought back to life my intentions to scale things up. ![]() ![]() ![]() The planet you see (I emptied NY so it is now my sandbox) has 30K in radius, has its own files (so far just duplicated), can be aimed and has collision detection. Like any other object, it disappears at 500k range, but that must be a matter of starsphee I suppose. More to come soon. So, watch me - I am doing FL the way I want. What prevents you from this? RE: Real (less or more) scaled planets - Apollon - 05-14-2014 Yeah, some plnets/suns needs some re-scaling, the starblazer's size is bery noticable to the planet, which isn't very realistic, but on the otherhand, planet sizes can't get much bigger for the sake of distances, But nice job, hope to see more. RE: Real (less or more) scaled planets - Panzer - 05-14-2014 true-scale planets would be a little difficult to do in many places. They'd clog up a LOT of space and invariably disrupt communications unless placed somewhere at the edges. But personally, i'd like that a lot. |
