Question about Corsairs - Laowai - 05-17-2008 ' Wrote:Breaking server rules yeah. Firstly made Order that he sent me on specific coordinates: "Hey check out on that coordinates" "there is fight going on" And once got there attacking underlevel civilian without warning or reason. Even if I would know that is restricted area as underlevel civilian I shouldn't be attacked. Got luck that I didn't share screenshots to admins but tried to make roleplay story. And now making yourself important becouse you were able to destroy someone who doesnt have even 1 single weapon? And you know what is funny you make fun with my work in one hand and on another you trying to become full camera reporter. I know it is just game but I don't think that is the way. Er... Camera you kinda took that the wrong way mate. Firstly i was in the system when it happened, but i didn't destroy you. Secondly, i wasn't making myself important, i was making a joke. - mostly using the incident as something funny about how mean the corsairs can be - Yep, they killed an innocent reporter, yep, thats mean. Pretty simple, not making fun of your situation at all. And yep, as you said - id like to write media ideas in your thread, i like writing that stuff, i Pm'd the admins about making a journalist character myself back in December of last year and its something that i think is a fun addition to the game. I like what you do, i want to be involved. I wasn't in anyway making fun of you in public while trying out for your thread behind closed doors. I was being funny, sorry you took it the wrong way. Question about Corsairs - Laowai - 05-17-2008 ' Wrote:Point No. 1:Corsairs in Liberty and smuggling Sorry Jammi - gotta take issue with you on this one (By the way, way off topic from original thread now... but anyway) So the Order.. DON'T give the Corsairs the codes now? thats a new one.... where did that come from.... First of all they would give the Corsairs the codes, there is no reason not to - and the Corsairs being corsairs wouldn't take a refusal to do so that well anyway.... The Order needs the Corsairs way more than the Corsairs need them - especially after the Corsairs have got the cap ship side of the alliance deal done and wrapped up.. the Order need the Corsairs to assist against the Nomads in that area of space - Question of priorities here: Anger the Corsairs by not giving them codes - which means the Corsairs take their bat and call and say "Fine fight your own battles... Actually, better still, how about we come in and sweep aside your couple of bases and take what we want for ourselves... " (which is a pretty Corsairish thing to do...) Point is, a whole lot to risk for the order if they withhold codes that will only really aggravate Liberty if they get out anyway.... You're right the Alaska route IS risky, but the profit makes it worth it... and people will do stupid things for money. Plus we're talking about Corsairs here.. they really aren't going to give much of a hoot about Navy patrols or Nomads.. they sacrifice their own young in "prove your warriorhood" flights into the Malvada cloud to fish for artifacts for heavens sake! Navy Patrol you say? to quote the Lane Hacker pirate Edward Morris thats been hanging around NY lately - "YARRRRRRrr i wanna eat ye!" That being said, You're right in that there is a much more sneaky route that Carlos has shown you, you can take it to Texas or NY, depending on your patience. My point is not to say that people shouldnt use that route, only that the Alaska route is equally valid from a Corsair point of view. You're also right that Corsairs should not be trading to Manhattan - Who is doing that? Screen shot the blighter! Its Rochester or bust! Question about Corsairs - pim - 05-17-2008 ABOUT CORSAIR'S RP (back to goals) : As far as I know, there are : -The pirats, who's main goal is to bring as much ressources to Crete as possible to maintain Corsairs' power. -The smugglers are making money by selling artifacts. their main goal is the same as pirats. -The militaries, trying to invade Sirius and defend their territory. Skilled and well-equiped, they are supposed to be the most NPCs we can see. Corsair's factions have also developped their own RP, where humanitary situation in Crete become worse and worse because of overpopulation. So, they asked for food and medics all over Sirius, and let traders bringing these goods pass safely in their territory... Question about Corsairs - Robert.Fitzgerald - 05-17-2008 Laowai, I agree that the Order would probably give the Corsairs the codes in exchange for credits/ships... But it is not valid to be smuggling through it. It is probably the most heavily guarded and one of the most dangerous systems in Sirius, with Nomads, Order, Bounty Hunters and LN ships attacking each other left right and centre. A smuggling ship, in-RP, would not get out of there alive. Codes or not, he'd be destroyed by the supposed defenses at either side of the gate. However, they are made useless in the mod for the single player campaign. Question about Corsairs - Laowai - 05-17-2008 ' Wrote:Laowai, I agree that the Order would probably give the Corsairs the codes in exchange for credits/ships... True, but thats actually also one of the reasons a smuggler would get through. Everybody is paying attention to everyone else - and you can get through there without betting stopped, if you go wide enough. The defences thing is another matter, but this goes back to that other thread, and i still maintain that that should be guarded by the players, not an imaginary RP "what if" - i know the jury is still out on this one though. Anyway, as its been established, Corsairs will run it, or at least try - heavily guarded or not - that is my point. Question about Corsairs - Robert.Fitzgerald - 05-17-2008 If there was an unguarded jump hole, the Smuggler-evading-detection thing would work... However, there should be a battleship stationed at the New York Jump Gate (Player) to just blast everyone on sight. Better still, make the lower parts of the system the LSF guard system, so you have proper LSF bases and rules to destroy unauthorised contacts. Personally, I don't think the Corsairs have any business in Liberty, other than escorting smugglers. They aren't friendly with anyone in the area, the closest group would be the Junkers. They probably don't have the resources to attack Liberty, without severely opening up their home defences for Hessian/Outcast attack. Escorting a smuggler seems to be sort of contradictory to the whole "sneaking" thing... But that's my opinion. Well... yeah - sending a smuggler with a couple of Titans in is sneaky, or a gunboat sneaking in and out isnt really that noticeable... 3 capships showing up is a military incursion and i agree.. and said earlier, that i dont think they would do that with all the threats at home. (well, unless someone RP"d some serious badblood with someone who was in Liberty, but i aint seen anyone do that) There should be a battleship there to blast everyone, (If i could have a Liberty BS, i would happily HAPPILY RP that character and sit outside the minefield every time i was in game, warning people off or taking pot shots at them, and i say pot shots cos i almost never hit anything, but i digress) - but very often there are no players waiting there and in that case, the smugglers got lucky. Question about Corsairs - camera - 05-17-2008 ' Wrote:Er... Camera you kinda took that the wrong way mate. I fully accept what you've just explaind me. I know that many times as everyone I can be totaly wrong. I won't speak in favour of myself but will take what you've told me to my knowledge. Becouse of many factions, clans and mod things after good month of playing I acknowledge that I have a lot to learn before I will be able to be good. All what I expected is already right here. It is called explanation. And I am grateful for that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My first post was good example of what reporter should never do. Reporter should be always ready to talk explain and report with non-attacking words. My second one(upper of line) is more likely a reporter like one. Why I am talking that? Becouse I know you wouldn't expect that but...that was one of my tests. The tests that aren't expected always show the most realistics reacting of peoples and cannot be comparable with tests you expect, becouse in that type of tests you would see only how they act becouse they want pass it. To my trial reporter: Even in situation that you were attacked by words directly you've found good non-attacking answer to it. I am confirming that you have passed one of most important test I had in plan. Now all you have to do is write normal news and if you do that fine you become full reporter:yahoo:!! Note: I am sorry to involve anyone here but that was the best way that my trial reporter wouldn't expect it test. Moderators after my trial reporter read this you can delete all unrelevant posts including mine's becouse has nothing to do with topic. ' Wrote:I agree concerning the alaska gate. Maybe Liberty navy guard should sit there with few nice ships and enough firepower to demolish a trader. Hey Ivan thank you for your respect of my work;) Question about Corsairs - CusoJR - 05-19-2008 Ok back on topic... Another question. If a trader refuses to pay and engages cruse and I am unable to disrupt in time can I chase? What if I've already engaged? Question about Corsairs - Exsiled_one - 05-19-2008 ofcourse you can distrupt him =) You can mash his head too if you already asked for the ammount of money / cargo.
