It was destroyed in one of the roleplay stories (Black Squadron, The History). Not sure if that's the official explaination but at least its something.

yes since idk what happened to the Osiris, I thought that it would be befiting that the ship go down in a blaze against the nomads :P. Although I must point out that I do not know what has happened to the Osiris

I just checked through it, igiss said no way to a nomad faction and that the Order NPC one would get a little more work.
Just because lots of people want something doesnt mean igiss will do it. Example alot of people wanted the marsflyer removed, but it's still here.
