I got the basics from school, most vocabulary from the net; conversational English from TS and Skype and whatever falls in between from Disco (writing) and YouTube (listening).
And games, lots of games which I just played on English (or bought).

I think it's very silly that English is not a required subject in countries that do not have it as a primary language. Well, they'll work it out eventually.

Games, all sorts of games, aand especially from here, i was forced here to use english and that made my skills to became better and better.

Basics in school, but mostly Disco RP, really, it's been a huge benefit to my language sophistication. And I've only just recently started to watch my favourite sci-fi series in English (they're so much better now). I regret I never did that earlier. But yeah, -real- skills I got from Skype and ingame chatting as it's the a pretty natural and spontaneous way of practicing a language, unlike school where you hardly talk and mostly 'do grammar' *puke*. Yet I've become a wanna-be grammar nazi. Tsk.

You should learn the difference between respectful common courtesy and submission to people who have shown time and time again that they deserve no respect. Also being respectful to those people would be an insult to people who deserve respect.

Cartoons that weren't dubbed over. I do miss the proper cartoon network... Watching BBC because of their epic programs such as robowars. Watching discovery channel(with subtitles), because of epic programs such as the original scrapheap series and history programs.....
Games, in English, when I didn't even know the majority of the words.... starting at the age of 7.
From age 11ish we had English in school....
Same for Highschool and College( 75% of the time my courses were in English, even graduating with an international degree)

10-15 years old : teen movie with subtitle
15 - 23 years old : school, college, po *cough* adult movie with subtitle
23 - now : college, ym, skype and disco
