CHanging the HUD - sn!p3r - 06-23-2008 Isn't there that red flashing icon in the corner that shows if a missile is coming, followed by the Incoming missile and the annoying noises?? CHanging the HUD - Dantrithor - 06-23-2008 There is. An intermitent Beep which reproduces faster as distance gets closer, until impact. And annoying noises? Have you flied in Falcon 4.0? That WAS annoying! But neccesary. CHanging the HUD - Nikolaus - 06-23-2008 I think he means a beep when HE has missile lock on someone else. CHanging the HUD - Boss - 06-23-2008 Okay, people. I happen to have four different HUD mods on my comp, they came with 88Flak. They work just fine with Disco, but I haven't used them in a while. CHanging the HUD - Robert.Fitzgerald - 06-23-2008 The way I see it, colour/texture changes are FINE. Moving the icons and windows around: NOT FINE. CHanging the HUD - Akumabito - 06-23-2008 It seems to me it shouldn't matter what the changes are, colors, crosshairs or position. The metric should be whether you get an advantage over someone who is using the stock GUI. If you are then it's cheating. CHanging the HUD - Robert.Fitzgerald - 06-23-2008 Well, for example, changing the HUD colours (of the windows, not the crosshairs) to be like the inside of a Wrath should not be counted as cheating. While it might look different, the windows aren't effected via position nor transparency, and the crosshair remains the same. CHanging the HUD - Akumabito - 06-23-2008 It's changing the crosshairs that I would be concerned with. Obviously changing the colors of the HUD windows is not going to do anything that would make combat easier, but I have found in the past that changing the crosshair or the aiming cross for the targeted ship does help track them better, especially when you have a sea of red. Also some colors work a lot better than red for spotting the aimpoint in some space backgrounds. CHanging the HUD - Colonel Z.e.r.o. - 06-23-2008 ' Wrote:A color change is basically a texture swap, nothing really changes. A HUD re-arrangement, however, can change the way you can fight in PvP, giving you an advantage (even if small) over those not using that HUD change. Most of them were designed for that purpose, if I recall. So, color change should be fine, rearrangement not so fine.May I ask how this can be accomplished? |
