jinx, i will not start flame, but i say this:
how much of bh liberty battlecruisers is roleplayed on that rank as fantasia ?
when you ask them why they have liberty battlecruiser and not bh battlecruiser, their answer is: because it is better... and that has nothing with roleplay....

how much doesn t matter. - but i think we re arguing over rethorical issues rather than rules.

a yes includes exceptions - no matter how tiny they may be - but it includes the chance that a roleplay may be good enough.

a no excludes everything. - maybe that is what its rather about. we are not talking about a one-liner roleplay or a "cause i can" roleplay. we re talking about the pure possibility that it can happen, that it can be agreed on. - and i believe that it should be possible, - i do not mention the circumstances or the quality of the roleplay - i just say that it should be possible.

edit: referring to the below: "how much doesnt matter, yes, hypoteticaly you can make everything..." although it was prolly rather sarcastic.... thats the spirit of RP. =) - or you may end up with a truely brilliant story that everyone agrees on, but you simply cannot shape your char the way the story suggests, cause there is a point blank "no" - and if you are finally allowed to take the last step ( in that case buy a lib BC ) it would be an exception of the rule - and therefore would turn the point blank "no" into a "yes, as long as......"

I can't vote 'cos I believe Maybe and Maybe. Yes, the BH have a cracking line of ships, and should be using them, BUT if it's well RP'd, there should be no problem with them flying anything else. But that's the sticking point, isn't it. Well RP'd......... who's to decide that?

Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - NonSequitor - 06-18-2008

I'm not sure why a BH would fly a Liberty BC when the BH BC is a pretty good ship. The Libby version looks like it would be an exercise in futility to fly through an asteroid field.

If the player writes up some sort of rp-back story in the forums and roleplays in game, why couldn't he fly the thing?

BH is a lawful entity with origins in Liberty space. It's not like the BH pilot is commandeering an Osiris or an OC dessie.

Personally, I'd rather fly the BH BC.

No with exceptions. This is a prime example of why too many rules can destroy gameplay. Better to leave some grey area for people to manuever in and get some exceptions.
They ought to know not to fly one of the most secret and powerful House vessels in the mod.
I'd say that it's up to the factions such as the SA and LSF to make sure those ships don't end up in BH hands etc.
The thing is though, if that Bounty hunter comes to an agreement with the SA or LSF, they won't be hunted down and as such are free to use the ship, just like in real life.

No ! as far as, by "capital ships", you don't include GBs... In low quantities, they can be decomissionned and sold to the ones who have enough money...
But a capital ship requires thousands of crew, lots of material and a huge bay to construct it... Only houses can afford them. Gb still little enough to be purchased and maintained by a little group of independants, not bigger ships...

Nope.

Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - Jihadjoe - 06-18-2008

Bounty Hunters have their own very complete shipline. Simple answer here really...

NOPE. Not at all in roleplay for them to have other ships.

... Hell *no*.
