RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - carlfatal - 03-10-2013 I am a long term SimCity addicted, SimCity 4 is not a game, it is much more like this to me. I´ve customized my game so much, that i can build like i want, and the qualitiy of custom content is nothing to compare a lot of newer titles with. Now this new game was coming out, and like i thought since the first informations about EA and Maxis: it is a casual gamer title, cheap looking and in no way a town planning simulation. Never EA asked our community and also we never were involved in any discussion. Maybe "hardcore fans" of this game were not anymore the people they want to sell this game. But then they stole the tramway for the new game from the NAM team, a team, they changed SimCity 4 to a serious simulation. An if there was a big map in SImCity 4, tiles with 4 to 4 square kilometers, - now you have a map with at least 16 tiles, and everyone is maybe 2 to 2 square kilometers. But a real town has a size about 20 to 40 square km. The buildings - sorry, i know some artists on simtropolis or SC4D they offer buildings or props in a quality, that it is a real shame to see, what EA has done here with this new game. And at least: a MP only cause they want to stop illegal copying of the game? We played MP with SC4 also, and only a few are interested in this. The most players want to play alone, in a very personal customized style, they don´t need the new features. Also no player needs a highscore in a game, where you can play a town for years to give it the size and look you want to see. No serious player counts skyscrapers, but to build a real looking town with suburbs and nature and rural environment around... So i decided against this new Sim Ville, how i say, if i talk about this game. I will stay with SimCity 4 for the next ten years. The picture shows one of my villages on a region i play since two years. klick for a bigger image... RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - Duvelske - 03-10-2013 i am not a sim city fan. i played it long time ago when i was still very young. At that time i loved to play it. but i got bored out of it. as its not a game for me. Carl did link me a while back on skype a youtube vid of work of sim city 4 from some guy. I will post it here for peeps to show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2BtB72oanE its really good looking. And if you really want to make a detailed city i would say take sim city 4. Mod it and play. RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - Tonto1911 - 03-13-2013 Would anyone know why this game would cause a Blue Screen? No other game I've played causes this, but after a good 20-30 minutes of playing, it randomly goes to the blue screen saying "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval." I have an AMD Quad-Processor with AMD Radeon 6530D graphics and play with every setting on low. Yup, I had the same problem with CS:GO. You need to update the bios, then it should be fine. And hypothetically speaking, what if someone was technilogically retarded, how would they go about updating that? Edit:Thank God for Google. Thanks for the info on that, would have never checked that. RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - Tyler - 03-13-2013 EA, no thanks. Loved the feel of BF3, but deinstalled after being let down by EA too often. Never one ES product ever again. RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - Loken - 03-15-2013 Had great fun with it all day today. Started a region up with Enoch and already have two cities well under way. There were a few minor issues with EA servers messing up our cities during peak time but all problems resolved themselves after a short wait. RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - Veygaar - 03-15-2013 Sorry. http://sourcefednews.com/modder-proves-sim-city-is-playable-offline/ RE: SimCity (5, 2013, whatever) - Loken - 03-15-2013 Perhaps I misunderstood but what I got from that article was "Modder makes an offline version of SimCity and it doesn't work properly despite still being somewhat playable. BURN EA." I'm no fan of EA but this game is actually pretty damn good. I'm also looking forward to getting a free game of my choice on Origin on March 18th despite having had no serious problems myself.
