RE: The Peoples Republic {PR} Discussion - Kampanom - 05-22-2013

Would North Korea still exist in the 23rd century? Or would the peninsula be unified?
Why would Koreans infiltrate the Kusari? For what purpose?
Was North Korea (or a whole Korea unified under the north) part of the Coalition?
If yes, then what are the descendants of these Koreans doing in Kusari? Why don't they go to Omega 52?
Also, how did these 200 Koreans manage to preserve their identity after 8 centuries of contact with the Japanese/Kusarians? Wouldn't they be just Kusarians and adopt Japanese/Kusarian culture by now?

There's plenty of unanswered questions.

I don't like the idea of factions somehow tied to Earth-era nations. That's like groups nowadays tied to some medieval Viking clan; it just doesn't make sense for such ties to endure over many, many centuries.

If you want to make a Kusari revolutionary group, I suggest the Blood Dragons. They are currently quite inactive and could use some new ideas.

Unfortunately, since only one official player faction per NPC faction there is no avenue to become official starting a Blood Dragon affiliated faction

Blood Dragons... Communists... Whaaa?

RE: The Peoples Republic {PR} Discussion - Kampanom - 05-22-2013

I don't think Blood Dragons would fit...They're monarchists and reactionary in nature.

The Blood Dragons aren't official at the moment. Aside from that, there's no reason not to start an unofficial BD faction even if they were.

True enough, they certainly are. However, times change, and factions can change over time as well.

Who's to say there won't be a group of younger Dragons that don't much approve of the old monarchist ways, and want to focus more on battling the oppressive capitalist corporations and overthrowing the government.....something Blood Dragons do anyway?
It totally makes sense for some people within the Dragons to question the whole "We're fighting for the honor of a long-dead Shogun or whatever", and focus on more practical, people-oriented goals.

Personally, I think Blood Dragons would be a good choice if that's what you want to do.

RE: The Peoples Republic {PR} Discussion - Ryummel - 05-22-2013

If they were people-oriented, they'd not be the elitist warriors they've always been, and thus have perished centuries ago. This still fits the Farmers Alliance or akin peasant-like group.

PS: Or being totally honest here, Kusari already has the army guys, samurai guys, mafia guys, angry peasant guys and angry ladies to roleplay as, each one with their very unique background.

RE: The Peoples Republic {PR} Discussion - {PR} Chairman Kim - 05-22-2013

I just don't think it would be worth the time investment if it stayed unofficial. I didn't know the Dragons weren't official right now, so that's something I'll look into, although I echo some of the concerns by others here about a Blood Dragon affiliated faction.

I think this idea is hilarious.

Also if you are going unlawful you could pick pirate ID, and it would be great if there was more faction information to read.
