I thought people'd have figured that out by now. if they wanna make the game better, they should make it so that shooting the glass cockpit is like some sort of headshot. unless of carse we invented some "space glass" to withstand the firepower of nukes. In which case you might as well make it flying airplanes in an enviornment that looks like space but really is just atmosphere, and ignore gravity and stuff. After reading Joe Halderman's the forever war, I've been fascinated by the idea of accelerating the first half of your journey and decelerating the second half to go places, unfortunately star citizen does have some kinda speed limit. "for gameplay reasons". It's science fiction. That's basically right! People who decided to pledge up can start with a, say, Guardian instead of a starflea. Or something on par with a gunboat or a transport. But I'm not sure where you're coming from with the permadeath bit, the lifetime insurance that comes with the ships is the same as standard hull insurance, which is going to be the most modest of the cashsinks in the game. Covering equipment and cargo is where things get expensive and tricky. The hull is, really, the most basic component. Besides, just because someone else decides to go crazy and pick up a Starfarer during a pledge drive doesn't mean that it's cut off to you . I doubt anyone could possibly foster such levels of stupid and entitled.I'm not sure where you're coming from on permadeath, you may be a bit confused from some misinformation. But this article should help! https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/12879-Death-Of-A-Spaceman RE: Star Citizen - GTB - 07-01-2013 Think of this this way, you might come on DISCO new and many others are already flying cap ships, bombers, or whatever. Because they've been on a long time before you came along. Same thing really when talking about starting with an advantage of being in a GB on Star Citizen. You just have to play until you yourself are in that situation of having a better ship. RE: Star Citizen - ian - 07-03-2013 If you guys ever set up a private server for the Disco group then I would be more than happy to follow you peeps over there! There is no doubt that you would be able to accomplish quite a lot given the new systems, engine and I don't doubt it will be only a matter of time before some modding tools are released Also GTB, that was a great way to explain the pay-for-convenience model they got right now and I have used it a few times now, thanks

RE: Star Citizen - Pel - 07-06-2013 It will probably be a couple of years till it comes out, but it will be freakin awesome! Check out this corvette: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/13097-Idris-Corvette-Revealed Or this fighter: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/13058-Vanduul-Scythe-WIP The attention to detail is amazing. Gives me time to build a new computer. Forgive me if this is old news, but I just don't get tired of looking at their ships. And every little part is functional. So far I just have an Origin 350P Explorer, but I hope to build up my hanger before launch.
