Biography:
Much of my early life was spent drifting from station to station throughout the Border Worlds and Edge Worlds. When I was very young my father who worked aboard a BMM mining ship ‘The Celestial Spirit’ was killed in an Outcast raid. With very little in the way of credits and no compensation from the BMM after the attack my mother was left to raise me on her own with virtually nothing to support. Much of my youth was spent scampering around the decks of Freeport 7 with the other children who inhabited the station. At a very young age I found that I had an affinity for anything to do with mechanics and engineering. Often I would hang around the docking bays of the Freeport picking up small maintenance and repair jobs on the ships that docked in an effort to earn some extra credits. As soon as I turned 16 in order to support my mother further I secured a position on a convey headed for planet Kurile and left the Freeport. That’s how I spent the next 6 years, going from convoy to convoy just trying to find at least semi-permanent work.

When Freeport 7 was destroyed, my mother along with it, I slowly slipped into a drunken depression. I don’t know how much time between then and when I met the Captain, must have been a year at least. There I was a drunken wreck lying in an alley outside a hole of a bar in the lower levels of some forgotten station somewhere in the Tau’s. I don’t know what he saw in me, must have been some potential or I wouldn’t have been signed up. His name was Lyons Vaughn, an ex-Kruger Minerals miner turned independent. He was as wise as he was experienced while also being stern but fair. To put it simply he was my mentor an eventually my best friend. He got me on my feet again and before I knew it I was standing outside an obscure docking bay on some level of the station. His ship the ‘Fortune’s Prospect’ was the grandest and the oldest ship I had ever laid eyes upon. An old DU5-7Y mining vessel its hull was weathered with age and plasma and laser scoring pock-marked the structure.

The next 10 years from then on would be the best and most defining years of my life. After so many years of wandering I had found a home Lyons had not just selected me to be just another crew member but to be his protégé as well. Lyons was my guide and teacher. He taught me the art of navigation, when a smuggler would be offended If you offered him too little for his services and whether a pirate would pose a real threat or just be microwave ready cannon fodder. After 7 years aboard the Prospect I had become an established and trusted member of the crew and the captain’s second in command. Around this time though Lyons had become increasingly ill, often retreating to his cabin not to emerge for days at a time. With this occurring the crew looked to me more and more for guidance and my position of command became more prominent and demanding. The next 3 years were a repeating cycle, of highs and lows and struggles to pull through. Lyons eventually passed away though he left me with one more surprise, this would prove to be one of his greatest gifts of all. He had given me the ‘Fortune’s Prospect’ itself.

Secondary Information

Outline the Independent Miners Guild goals:
One of the IMG’s most integral goals is to provide honest labour to its members where the money earned goes to the actual worker not some corporation or house. This work orientated policy ensures the most well-known of the IMG’s goals is fulfilled, that fair treatment and adequate profit from honest labour is up held.

What can you contribute while in the guild?
All I can promise you is a hardworking crew and ship willing to do some honest work for honest pay and with this in mind hopefully help carve out a place in this harsh universe which everyone can benefit from. I and my crew are experienced in both asteroid and planetoid mining. If you do accept me into the ranks of the IMG I will do my best to uphold the guild’s core values.

What are you personnel reasons for joining the guild? Which department would you like to join?
I have been the captain of the ‘Fortune’s Prospect for a number of years now. Lately I have been finding it hard to secure any really profitable contract from clients because they turns use down in favour of corporate owned and operated mining ships. Because of this I have found that I have been barely able to meet the maintenance costs for the ship and I fear I will have to sell her, which is something I dread the most. Otherwise I might have to find work with the BMM and with what they did to me and my mother that is something I would not consider unless I was very desperate. I would like to apply for a position within the mining department.

John Connor
age 28
Libertonian

I was born, in omega 7 aboard the Mining ship Hagemon due to fact that my parents were the operators on hagemons only two defence turrets so they did not have much time off to land and give me a proper birth. Since the mininig operations lasted for years i grew up on that mine ship and was tought how to use the transport turret do defend the mining operation my self. Still as a child i dreamed of becoming a member of great mining faction as the IMG and hoped to get my self some proper hardware to improve my chances in defending the hardworking miners. Today i'm a captain of a Gasherbrum class gunboat named "TheFlamingPickaxe" and i hope i will be able to fight for a greater cause in case i get accepted to become a part of restless IMG machine. (Paramilitary division)

Now for the oorp part : beside i have many chars non of them are official faction members , i am playing disco only 6 months now but i have 20+ years of experience with gaming .. first space sim i played was on spectrum back in 1989 and famous game of Elite on commodore64
I was sanctioned once cause i said in chat "you will get reported" to a guy who was killing me with out saying anything after he uncloacked" epic justice..

Anyway hope you will find me worthy

Yours sincerely : cpt. John Connor

Biography: I was born on Gran Canaria, Omega 49. My pa was a druggie, addicted to Cardamine. I grew up on the streets, always dreaming about exploring the great big universe. I did a lot of research on Sirius, got into a good college, and had things start looking up for me. Unfortunately, I got taken on a Corsair slave liner, destination Omicron Gamma. We came under fire while passing through Omega 7, and I activated the escape pods, valuing self-preservation over honor. An IMG ship picked me up, took me to Freistadt. The IMG saved me, and enabled my survival, and once I heard of their exploration operations, I knew it was my kind of faction.

Secondary Information

Outline the Independent Miners Guild goals: The IMG exists to create a more personal bond between miners and corporations, and to explore all reaches of the known and unknown galaxy. IMG serves as an honorable guild outside of houses, still morally pure and free of corruption.

What can you contribute while in the guild? I can mine, with m’ Annapurna, but I would much rather explore, research, learn. I can contribute a well-honed fighting skill and a dependable work ethic, and I function best in a group.

What are your personal reasons for joining the guild? Which department would you like to join? Well, like I said, I owe my life to the IMG. I want to join the exploration and research department, although I do know a little bit about every field, so I could be more than versatile. I offer my thanks in advance.

Biography: My family originates from Pennsylvania, planet Erie. As a kid I was thrown quite early into the helium mining business. Slowly but steady we earned our keep and provided for everyone in the family. It was my grandfather though who always inspired me and it was his big dream that one of us would some day make it far. After he died a dispute arose between my uncle and my father, leaving the family business in pieces. All we had left was our equipment which we eventually sold, save 2 mining Hegemons. Those were passed down to my cousin Rupert and me. One day I overheard a conversation in a bar, they said that there was a pocket of Iridium in a distant system called Kansas. I went there and yes! after 3 days monitoring ships coming in & out of the field I found the pocket. Made some good deals in those days, but it was still ... working alone. When the field was minded out, a barge pilot pointed me to Dublin, Bretonia. Where an independant mining guild called FTU was thriving and prospering. It wasn't very interesting at first but eventually I made my way down there and ended up joining their ranks as a miner. Made a lot of money there and good friends too, but also lost a few... We were treated as outlaws by the government and the locals weren't too fund of us either. FTUs days were numbered... As the gold rush declined so did our work and income. I managed to pull my equipment and some of my money out of there and now I have ships everywhere gathering dust and costing me a handful in parking fees. There we are then... my short but swift history.

Secondary Information:

Outline the Independent Miners Guild goals: I believe that in the IMG one can earn an honest living. A place where you are more then just an employee. A place where even you have a say in matters. A guild that keeps a respectful and neutral position within all houses of Sirius.

What can you contribute while inside the Guild ? Let me sum it up: I have one Stork train transport, The Bonus Runner. That good old train never lets me down. I am also the prized posessor of an escort Eagle which I flew this morning into Java just to talk to you guys. Furthermore, I have 3 miners ready and waiting to be deployed.

Which are your personal reasons for joining the Guild ? Also, which IMG Department would you like to be part of ? Personal reasons: One day, when all of this is over, I want to return to Erie and repay my family for all they have done. Tell wild stories about my adventures! And retire knowing that I got the best out of life. IMG department: Well, transportation. I want to fly around again, get to know you guys aside from your operations in Dublin

Greetings my dear applicants.
My name's Derek Winter and I'm going to take care of our fine guild's recruitment from now on. I'm rather new to this job since I've been working in the logistics departement up until now.
Well, let's get started.

Let's see. Ah, yes. Mr. Bormer, right?
Okay. Looks like you passed the questionaire without any trouble. I'll contact you in a few minutes so please watch your SKYP3 inbox.
Welcome to the guild!

Okay. Off to the next one. Hello Mr. Barrett. The name sounds familiar in some way. Do you by any chance have an uncle who lives on planet Leeds? Nevermind. So you've been part of the FTU and now you're looking for another guild? Sounds like you know how to mine and transport goods.
Answer the questionaire correctly and you're in. I'll send it to your neural net account.

Allright, that's it for today folks. See you tomorrow!
