To whom it may concern,
My name is Greg Forteman. Easy enough to figure out since its outlined at the beginning of the transmission. Agh, there I go again. I've never been good with these applications I've never been much of a formal type y'know? Anyways, I guess I'll start off with where I'm from. Originally I was stationed with my folks on a prototype colony on Callisto, that's one of the moons of Jupiter. When I was 17 the colony got hit with some sorta debris that was floating around. Couple people were killed and some were wounded. My Dad and I were workin' the sector where the debris decided to hit. I was one of the wounded; lost function of my arm for a few years 'til the company funding the colony threw some pity cash at my family and we got me a fully robotic-prosthetic arm. You couldn't tell from the outside though; this arm looks as real as my old one, heh. Anyway, I couldn't live normally on the colony anymore. Going a few years without an arm then suddenly getting it back makes a guy want to do something other than colony work. So I decided I'd take me and my working arm out into space. I got me a small civvie shuttle and started doing work station to station.
Now, I s'pose I should get to the point of why I want to join. 2 months after I turned 27 I took on an escort job. The ship I was piloting wasn't bad by any means but it couldn't take on more than a few Hackers or Outcasts at a time. My escort was trying to get to Java Station one of IMG's main stations. Why am I telling you that? You should know your own station you are IMG. Ergh, anyway, we're getting through Tau 31 when these BMM guys tell us to "lose the cargo" and "we'd be able to leave without being scrap metal." I said something along the lines of "Up yours, jack hole." Well, didn't take them long to respond with pulse lasers and missiles. I yelled over at my Employer to get out while I provided some distraction. Didn't need to tell them twice they already had their cruise engine's primed. I took down a couple of the fighters but, my ship couldn't handle the fire power BMM was dishing out. So, resigned to the worst I did what I thought would be best: scream obscenities at the enemy while trying to evade their attacks. I was praying and hoping that some help would arrive somehow. And, whattya know it did. Couple of IMG fellas passing through with CR escorts saw the trouble and fended off the BMM scum. The Mining freighter that the CR was escorting let me fly in formation and they babysat me all the way back to Java. So that's that. All I want to do is return the favor whether it be mining or escorting, though to be quite honest think I'd be better off mining still shaken up after that BMM debacle. I owe IMG my life its only fair I pay you guys back.

-From what I read looks like you guys give work to all sorts of people. "Providing labor and income." You take in disgruntled and abandoned workers sounds pretty noble to me. You guys set up operations in places most corporations don't like, too. That's a gamble but it seems like it pays off for you guys.

Uh hm... I've got experience in fighting so I'm not useless in a firefight. I'm a pretty, whats the word, diligent worker so no worries about me skipping out on labor or anything. I'm not bad a drinking games either, heh.

Ah dammit I coulda saved my story for this part. I'll say it again just so you guys understand where I'm coming from. I owe the guild my life not to mention you guys got a pretty good looking operation going on.

See now that's a toughy. I can *do* anything but, can I do it well? I dunno. I'd like to try out mining though if there's an opening. I've got some experience but not much.

Biography:
I was born in Dublin on an BMM miner ship, where my father and mother are working, as live was hard it was not that easy for me.
i begin to see what live is all about connections and hard work.
it might be some genes that makes me love to do some mining.
As i got older i see that live got harder and harder in dublin and my parents got unemployed, as the mollys attacks the miner, it get destroyed and we use the rescue pods, but i never see my parents again.
after i told to the police and the armed forces and beg them on my knees to search my parents they decline and say that they can do nothing.
so i decide to leave bretonia and take all my cash with me and get an feelancer at the tau's. so the month passing by and i realise that i miss something and ask at the img station in java for a job as a miner and they give me work.
my first miner was a small one, but the more i mine, the more i earn and after many month of mining i was able to buy myself a DU5-7Y "Hegemon"
which i use since then.
After a night in the bar on java i decide to work for the regular mining devision and here is my aplication.

Well Mr. Forteman. Your Story is quite disturbing. Our relations with the BMM aren't perfect but they surely aren't as bad as you describe them in your story. Also, I highly doubt that any IMG would actually engage a BMM vessel.
Are you sure that your scanners weren't showing some incorrect readings? The behavior you described kinda sounded like you met our "friends", the outcasts. If it had been BMM bretonia woulda contacted us a while ago, screaming and yelling at us because we engaged their vessels. So I suppose either your vessel has some malfunctioning gear or they were using fake transponders.
Anyways, moving on.
I'm sure we got a free place in the mining devision for you if that's waht you wish to do. but first you'll have to prove that you learned enough to survive in the independent systems. it's been only two months for you after all. You'll find our questionaire in your neural net inbox.

Shortly after a Molly Expedition destroyed most of the operations ships and John and Betsy barely made out with their son Morris K. Hooper. BMM did not help or honor the contracts of the pilots who were unemployed by the Molly attacks so they settled into a life on Planet Cambridge. After Morris was old enough he went to BMM chasing promises of exploration and adventure, only to find there were none of the sort.
Morris left BMM and procured an independent neural net card for Independent Mining Guild and began a lucrative mining business in the Dublin System.
