New orders for the Fleet. As per agreements made and terms signed with National Council, First Fleet is not to show aggression towards any Outcast Forces and recognize them as a neutral entity and cooperate in operations against Royal Navy. Also Fleet is to cease Cardamine interception from Outcast vessels. Cardamine is still to be intercepted from other parties and brought to Sabah Research Section for examination, contamination and research purposes.

Xander, out.

It's been a close one at Provence.

The fight was pretty brutal, even by civil war standards. Both the Oblique and Arles sunk. Our own Styx, Agamemnon and Atlas gave as hard as they got but it didn't seem like enough when it mattered. Scant consolation, but in the last round, our side slaughtered the opposition spectacularly, for once working as intended - namely when we finally developed momentary local advantage in number of battleships and their cohesion.

All in all, we did accomplish denying the enemy victory, albeit at being denied one for ourselves. Fleet contribution appeared critical to securing this outcome, which no doubt would have been far worse for lack of it. No cases of dereliction of duty or breaches of discipline reported or noted among fleet units. Performance and aptitude... about as good as could be had under the chaotic circumstances. We're getting there - it's hardly rocket science, that the ships-of-the-line keep a tight formation and pointing at whatever is painted as "Must die now". All ships involved will need some time on the slipway, I am led to understand, that this is the first time since Helios, that there's any significant work for Sabah to do, therefore repairs should be finished without unnecessary delay.

As to the outcome - if it weren't for us sinking the Arles and keeping the field afterwards, the Royals would have it their way entirely. As it is, Provence is bound to become an anarchic no-man's land... Space. Both Royals and Council will need to step back, evacuate vulnerable, civilian assets or risk their destruction.

Not ideal, this.

A rather interesting report reached my desk, authored by the current commander of the Iblis, I am disseminating its excerpt among other commands, as it offers a new and potentially important tactical option in the region.

(...) Listening posts picked up Royal traffic in Orkney, seeing as after Provence there's even fewer navy/police patrols around T23 and Orkney and that the contact was solitary, I have concluded, that the contact in question has some very good odds of being a GMS mining ship busying itself with the oh-so-despicable act of mining the local ore deposits. We entered Orkney from T23, encountering no opposition or surveillance in range, immediately setting course for the north-western asteroid field, known to host the recently-discovered mineral deposits. Some 10k from the field's boundrary, we engaged our cloak and entered the field. Just in time, as almost immediately, we picked up the contact, which indeed turned out to be flagged GMS. We scanned it and much to our surprise, it was a GMS equivalent of a Dataminer we have been briefed about and which the Colonial fleet itself is employing lately.

As per instructions on to how to handle Royal non-combatants, since the ship in question lacked any cargo or data, upon uncloaking, I demanded, that since they had sufficient means to comply - their ship is to provide 5 volumes of anomaly scanning data. They complied.(...)

Suffice to say, gentlemen - I expect the above method followed where applicable. Make gathering data a priority in such circumstances, especially given how the Council prefers, that we don't blow every civilian ship we find.

The Altes, Crackie Cracker is going out on a dangerous mission to Collect resources to restore the Sebah researching lab due to damage that leakers the base. They have enough fuel and time to drop her some Basic handful of new Crayter Crew members on hire just around corners away inside the main region of the station, which was blocked off and a handful of Food, Water and Oxygen before the storm and two handful of a full tanker of Reinforced allies without any data recorded due to ship systems having errors recording such images on its data base.

After they landed they filled up for a long Journey into the dangers of Space to Collect Some Key materials to create a weapon to aid us in our Victory.

Please Stand by. . . on their journey into the unknowns and came home hopefully safely and Crew still healthy from dangers and infections.

Men and Women of our proud Military,

I am Amanda Townley, newly appointed Admiral of our First Fleet. Though most of you may not have heard of my actual name until now, I assure you, the majority of you will know me as Enigma.

Following the recent turmoils surrounding the Fleet and the Republic, we strive now forward - forward to a more stable and secure time for our people, our nation. While we have sustained losses in the past, in Battlegroup Helios and Battlegroup Olympia, we shall never forget their sacrifice. We shall never forget those we have left behind us in our march for progress. While the Gallic menace marches on New London we have been holding back, to secure our nation. We shall further continue with the securing of our interest and the ongoing safety for all who reside in our nation.

Going forward, to compensate the loss of Battlegroup Helios at the hands of the Orange threat, I am ordering the beginning of construction of Battlegroup Hera
to strengthen our fleet and give us new possibilities and avenues of movement for our military. This new Battlegroup, consisting of One Deimos Class Dreadnought, One Zephyr-Class Support Carrier, Two Argus Class Battlecruisers, Four Thanatos Class Cruisers and Eight Hydra Class Gunboats. While this sounds like a big order, we already have a few assets in line, namely the Iapetus Zephyr-Class Carrier, the Argus - first of the Mark III Battlecruisers, two Thanatos Escort Cruisers and four Hydra Gunboats. These Vessels will cut production times and lay a groundwork of tradition for the Battlegroup and it's mission.

Comrades, Pilots, Friends. Our time to rise once more is upon us. The Gallic Menace has been allowed to operate unimpeded by our side for too long. It is time to fight for what we believe in, to push them back to whenceforth they came. Let us work together for the better of the Republic. Let us defend our homes and assist our allies who are in fear of losing theirs.

For those we left behind,

Amanda Townley
Admiral

Sender: Commander Naia Myers; Valkyrie CIC
Location: Sabah Shipyard

Good evening Fleet Command,

this is a note to inform you, that the Valkyrie has arrived at Sabah Shipyard to undergo the planned maintenance activities and to carry out an overhaul of a number of technical systems.

The planned activities include:
  • The upgrade of the ships Communication and Sensor systems, to meet with the current state of the art.
  • The overhaul of most of the older weapon systems in order to increase their energy efficiency.
  • The repair of the ships hull to ensure structural stability in areas damaged in previous combat operations.

Considering the amount of highly skilled personell working at Sabah, we expect the activities to be completed within a narrow time frame.

To Coronado Command, this is Commodore Grey reporting in.

At approximately 2212hours today, the Eris encountered what looked like a substantial Unioner convoy inbound from the Cortez system. Upon requesting their halt and subsequent scan, as well as visual reports, confirmation was made of the convoy's composition:

The first and foremost issue with this convoy was the presence of their heavy escort vessel, S.L.F. Walking Planck, a cruiser-class warship which by Crayter law is a violation. As such, I had my gunnery camera operator take scans of each ship to enure they were cleared before having the ship escorted out of the system. Scans had also picked up a solitary IMG pilot aboard the Planck, which I requested be transferred to the Eris before he jumped. The ship continued on its course, making the jump to Cortez. Upon following and exiting the wormhole, another scan was made of the ship, to which the presence of the IMG pilot was notably missing. At this time, I will acknowledge the presence of both an Auxesian transport, the Cilicia, and a Bounty Hunter gunship, the Guardian. I made numerous inquiries as to the location of the pilot, as gunnery scans did not make any note of his continued presence aboard the ship, to which there were numerous accusations of 'murder' by the nearby Auxesian pilot.

With no real tangible proof of the act, I was forced to let the ship go, though I do recommend we begin an investigation into this situation. The IMG may not be on the same level as they used to be with us, but their people are as much ours as they are theirs. The Eris made a return to Sabah Shipyard following the convoy's departure towards Liberty.

I will let command do with this information what is necessary. If this is going to be a repeat occurrence, I recommend taking precautions to ensure that we're not left hanging in the wind. I will deposit the Eris's full comm log with this report.

That is all.

Friends, Brothers and Sisters in Arms,

After an excellent showing of the Junkers and members of the ISE, all required goods have been delivered and the construction of Battlegroup Hera is moving way before schedule. The Flagship Dreadnought is nearing completion, while her Escorts are still in different stages of the building process, our motivated workers and engineers work tirelessly to finish this new addition to our military might.

The Battlegroup, once completed, will undergo trials before being deployed to her Area of Operations, though the Hera herself can possibly be seen in Combat Operations before the completion of all of her escorting forces.

The enemy looms on the horizon, the system of Cortez is aflame and we need to be more vigilant than ever. Prepare for the future, prepare for what is to come. Train and be ready, as your call could come at a moments notice.

For those we left behind.
