PvP whore's in NY? nooo - jammi - 07-10-2008 ' Wrote:I was about 50K up,and 1 LSF spotted me, then the whole horde showed up.S'cuse me, but you just flatly contridicted yourself, earlier you stated you were never further than 20K from the jump gate, and 50K is still more than 20K regardless of if you fly up or down. Note on the last post: It's a shame you got mobbed by seven fighters, but what were you even doing there anyway? Also, I can imagine the average inhabitant on the NY cesspitt (sorry guys, but I really hate the place) is sitting and listening to the radio chatter, now when said bored player hears the notice, 'hostile in system' what do you expect them to do? Especialy when you're a Nomad. Sad truth is such dirty tactics of mobbing is human nature, dating back to the earliest days of time when a caveman met with another and clubbed his neighbor. EDIT: What Titan said, he phrases it better PvP whore's in NY? nooo - Divine - 07-10-2008 ' Wrote:...it would be a standardized tactic called overwhelming force, if you send a small number of people against say one or two, there's a big chance you'll suffer losses, possibly even lose, if you send an overwhelming number, the chance of having losses dramatically reduces, and therefore it is the more effective tactic:) ...nothing against that, this tactic is used since thousands of years in mandkinds history ...but please also think about the player at the other end. It was hard enough to fight that one -JG- tagged ship and several, about 5 to 6 others ships were floating around me, shooting, probably hitting more of their own stuff then my ship ...i like to call that tactics the 'Corsair-Way' to solve things, as they are normally react the same way when get attacked by the Hunters on Crete //nothing against the Corsairs, good Hunters themselves and good RP'lers in piracy and war situations ...and bringing a huge fleet to defend a system against an Order Osiris sounds logically,... but if it is only one single fighter...?? ...why not fighting one on one or two on one, and if one of yours is defeated the next jumps in for him,... so you bring the same fleet into the fight, but give your oponent a little chance... ...of course, me and my single fighter couldnt be ever able to defeat the liberty forces, and as they know that, why lowering the others fun by killing them with overwelming fleets...?? //btw. the fight was great fun, was little bit shocked to survive such long time //and i was just there, cause i was seeking knowledge of the humans behaviour and their battle tactics, to understand our tactics more better, and i have learned this lesson the hard way... dont be caught in liberty, they call in the whole Army/Navy/Police/Reservists Forces... PvP whore's in NY? nooo - Titan - 07-10-2008 Well as I said, sending them one by one is in my opinion..out of RP, very much out of RP, why risk the lives of your pilots when you can just kill your opponent without losing anyone. I do think about the other player as well, but I'd rather think about RP first, I get thrown into such situations on both sides very often, and its all good fun and good gaming. After all this is a game, so I do try to sometimes give people a chance..sometimes:P PvP whore's in NY? nooo - Divine - 07-10-2008 ' Wrote:Well as I said, sending them one by one is in my opinion..out of RP, very much out of RP, why risk the lives of your pilots when you can just kill your opponent without losing anyone. After all this is a game, so I do try to sometimes give people a chance..sometimes:P Well, of course I understand your 'overwelming forces' tactics,... ...but I still think in some cases should be RP involved but have to stand a step back for a good RP-PVP ...and a good RP-PVP involves for me even a little chance to win or even escape. And I was thinking about fleeing but //damn, try to flee with 7 VHF's on your tail, ...no chance. //maybe this is the point of all: balance your RP with your RP-PVP's, of course it's roleplay wise a good idea to take as much forces as possible into a huge fight, to fight back a massive encounter, to lower own losses. but again: one single LF, i wouldnt call it a huge fight or a massive encounter So iam again for this: 1 hostile LF/VHF - Bring 8 Fighters, send two or three of them into the fight, if one gets detroyed, send the next (cause when iam defeated, your destroyed ships could depart again -> lower the roleplay, but highten up the pvp) 2 hostile LF/VHF - Bring 8 Fighters and engage But now iam also thinking of the problems the Liberty Forces have all the day with the 'OORP'chatters and those 'bad-independents', known less to nothing of roleplay; how stressed they probably could be... and then another hostile player... ...dont know. //long life and honour to all the good-rp'ing independents, they are like the spice in sirius-universe, wouldnt like to miss them //all i learned is to stay away from liberty if you have an liberty hostile char, cause you would be given no chance to have a nearly 'fair' fight (as 'fair' means not one on one, it means a realistic amount of forces to take out the hostile object) Nothing to complain anymore, as there wasnt really nothing before,... (just some little hints ;) ) good job guys, stay sharp and enjoy rp on discovery PvP whore's in NY? nooo - Titan - 07-10-2008 We're working to try and make Liberty better each day, maybe one day we'll lessen the ooRP to almost non existent levels, until then though..we do get stressed and sometimes tend to overreact, but most of us that play there really do love Liberty, so when someone bashes it we..well, we'll overreact:P As for the fights, I usually have 2 people patrolling each system if I can afford such a placement, and if they fight someone there, they fight them alone until support arrives if they ask for it. So you can usually only run into 2 LN or something at a time, but the indies are a bigger problem. PvP whore's in NY? nooo - Mere_Mortal - 07-10-2008 Personally, as soon as you announced yourself over the comms I was like "Osiris...kill!!!" since I was already in the system on my BHG Bomber character. I mean, c'mon...what are your enemies supposed to do, let you rampage through their/allied systems without even batting an eyelid? An Osiris in New York is a serious breach of security, such that should be dealt with in utmost urgency using whatever means are available. In addition...when you were 50k above the plane, the battle group had already been searching for you for about a quarter of an hour, as soon as you were exposed everybody made for the given coordinates and eventually we caught up with you above Z21, where you met your maker. PvP whore's in NY? nooo - SGTMatt - 07-10-2008 So he is complaining about getting fighter whored? Not a single BC? I am disappointed with you LN. But i have seen a half dozen navy/police/merc ship's go after 1 smuggler, while 4 pirate's are sitting on tradelane looting, and killing trader's. Leave. |
