Entry: #00030 Submitter: Quartermaster Tobiah Nitzan Date: 07/09/820 Piracy has increased in the Natio since we moved the Metropolis to Baffin. But we can't quite move her back in just yet. Ms. Clemens says we have approximately four days before we can begin using the Metropolis as a flagship. Kane will be so happy. The guns are almost all online, except for the heavy mortars -- they're being reconfigured to work with the new power core parts we had to put in. Something changed in the design over the past couple years, which is odd to say the least. The Raiders are back. RE: Ship's Log, VCS Metropolis - Kazinsal - 09-10-2013 Log active.
Entry: #00031 Submitter: Chief Engineer Florence Clemens Date: 08/09/820 I wish he'd stop calling me "Ms. Clemens". So professional. Ugh. Er. The Metropolis is almost ready for launch. The last of the weapons systems are online and targeting should be working -- we can't test them right now since Baffin is a system-wide no fire zone, as declared by the TAZ. That's fair though. It's their system. I really need to pump antimatter into something though. Shields are back at full capacity, engines are working, and I've got a little something prepared to show Kane when he gets in. RE: Ship's Log, VCS Metropolis - Kazinsal - 09-10-2013 Log active.
Entry: #00032 Submitter: Chief Engineer Florence Clemens Date: 10/09/820 Since Tobiah is off doing quartermaster-y things, I took the liberty to undock the Metropolis from Shasta Orbital Skyhook for this first time today. Having never sat in the captain's chair of a capital ship before, I can safely say I was astounded. I've never wielded such potential power before, while being fully aware that my mission was to just make sure the ship worked. And boy, did it ever. We tested all the guns in Coronado on some asteroids and watched the shields shrug off fragments of split rock and ice like dust. Impulse speed was faster than I thought it would be under full power. The cruise engines worked perfectly. Docking bays are fully operational with no oxygen leakage or door jamming. I'm not going to call this the maiden voyage, just a quick test flight. I'll leave the real honour to Taskmaster Kane upon his return. I am pleased to announce that the Spyglass II-class battleship VCS Metropolis of the Third Vagrant Fleet is now fully operational and ready to be commanded in the name of the Vagrant Raiders and Natio Octavarium. May she serve us well. |
